Monthly Craft Kit for October 2019

Stampin'UP! offers a monthly craft kit
. . . it's called "Paper Pumpkin"

The name comes from Cinderella and the concept of taking something plain, like a pumpkin and turning it into something grand and wonderful like the carriage.

If you're wondering what the kits are like then watch this short video showing the October Kit.

FAQ:
Q: are the kits always card kits?
A: no, because you can do all sorts of fun things with paper - check out the September kit which was cute halloween treat boxes

Q: can we see them before they ship?
A: no, the kits ship once a month and Stampin'UP! has the kits manufactured prior to shipping based on subscription projections.

Q: What do I do if I don't like the kit?
A: That's easy, use the parts to make other projects.  September's kit was Halloween treat boxes. I personally don't give treat boxes for Halloween, so I turned them into cards instead. You can see my alternate projects here.

BTW: There is a Facebook group dedicated to subscribers sharing their alternate projects and additional cards made with the monthly kit supplies.

Q: If I do like it can I buy past kits?
A: Yes . . . if you are a subscriber and if there are any left.

Q: Are there refills available?
A: Yes . . . subscribers can buy refills when they are available

Q: How much does it cost?
A: in the US only $22 plus tax (shipping is already factored into that price)

Q: What all do I get for that $22
  • a stamp set
  • a small ink pad
  • all the parts for the project: paper, ribbon, embellishments
  • and the shipping is part of that price

Q: can I do a trial  subscription?
A: yes, absolutely. There are no minimum purchases required with this subscription
There also are several pre-paid options available.

AND the cool thing is the subscription is flexible!
  • you can suspend a month if you don't want to receive a kit that month, or change the number of kits you get
  • there is no minimum number of kits you have to purchase.

Q: Sounds good - how do I sign up?
A: Subscribe here . . . and when you subscribe through me you'll also get a monthly email with photos of my alternate projects using that month's kit supplies.

Contact me with any questions.  Thanks for stopping by and have an INKcredible day

. . . Scroll down to see  how I store my Paper Pumpkin Stamp Sets.
  • GIFTABLE:  Do you struggle to find the perfect gift for your crafty friends?  Or would you like to introduce stamping to a non-stamping friend?  The craft kits are a great solution.  You can pre-pay a trial subscription of 1 mo, 3 mos,  6 mos, or 9mos.  Any of Stampin'UP!'s kits make great gifts.

Here's how I store my Paper Pumpkin Stamp sets. I use one of Stampin'UP!'s clear envelopes and use a quarter piece of cardstock as a backing to make it easier to see the set.

Leaf Shaker Card - the October Monthly Craft Kit Project

Sometimes you just like to have someone else do the thinking for you.  I do enjoy the creative aspect of papercrafting, but sometimes I just like to make pretty stuff and I don't want to have to think too hard. That's part of why I like getting Stampin'UP!'s monthly craft kit.

Each month its a surprise: We never know ahead of time what the project will be - sometimes its cards and sometimes its some other paper project. But its always something fun, and how cool is this - the October 2016 project was a Shaker Card!

Click here to read more about

There's 2 Key things to making a Shaker Card
  1. You can use any shape hole . . . this card uses a leaf shape,
but you need the acetate window sheet to cover the hole and to see through
  2. You can fill the shaker space with any small item . . . this card uses sequins,
but you need an adhesive with some dimension so they have room to move around
Stampin'UP!'s Adhesive strips are designed for making Shaker Cards.

Here are examples of other Shaker cards I've posted previously.

If you're new to this blog or to Stampin'UP! and you're wondering "what the heck is a paper pumpkin?", the answer is - its Stampin'UP!'s monthly craft kit. Each kit comes with a set of directions and Stampin'UP! posts a video showing how to make the intended projects.  Watch this video showing how to make the gift cards.

Alternate Projects with the October Paper Pumpkin Kit

Stampin'UP!'s October 2015 Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set: Blissful BlossomsI'm curious? When you get out your stamping stuff do you stamp specifically to make a project or are you stamping as a way to play?  I'd love to hear from people in the comments section at the bottom of the post.

The reason I ask: The other day I challenged myself to see how many different things I could make with the October Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set: Blissful Bouquet.  This picture shows what I had to work with. I can honestly say this was one of my most fun "play days" ever.

For those of you wondering
??"Paper Pumpkin"??

Paper Pumpkin is the name of Stampin'UP!'s monthly craft kit.
Stampin'UP!'s October 2015 Paper Pumpkin Kit*Its a subscription service. $20 a month
(which includes shipping, but not tax)
*Every month you get a little stamp set and a small ink pad
*includes everything needed to make a pre-designed project.

Are you loving this stamp set as much as I am?  The flowers are beautiful and I love, love, love that font. Its so gorgeous. So . . . after making 1 each of the intended project (see them in yesterday's post) I started playing with the parts and came up with some designs of my own. Ready to see them?

Isn't it cool how you can get such a range of images from this set. Be sure to scroll down to yesterday's post to see the intended projects for this kit.

Did you skip this month and regret it?  Don't worry - if you're already a subscriber you can buy past kits (while supplies last).  And if you aren't a subscriber and wish you had been  (and why aren't you?  The kits are easy and fun) but if you aren't (yet) you can subscribe now. Then you'll be a subscriber and you can go back and order this past kit (but remember, its while supplies last). And really, $20 a month is cheap entertainment when you're stamping for fun.

Don't miss this month's fun - it will be shipping soon
Subscribe by the 10th to get the November Kit

And remember to leave a comment: do you stamp to make a specific card or do you stamp to play?
