Wreath with a Leaf Frond

The stamps on this card are from the October Paper Pumpkin Kit: Blissful Bouquet. I'd posted this card a few days ago when I showed a whole bunch of alternate ideas for using the Blissful Bouquet stamps.

Since then I've received several questions about how I made the wreath so I thought I'd explain here. The key is that photopolymer stamps are somewhat flexible. So even though the leaf frond is more or less straight, due to the flexibility of the photopolymer you can add even more of a curve when you mount it on the block.

The other trick is to use a guide for the circle. I punched a circle and laid it on my project. Then I stamped a single row of fronds around the circle. When I removed the circle it was easy to stamp around the wreath several more layers so the wreath is nice and full.

Here's a close up of the flowers. I guess with flowers that that'd make this a spring wreath, even though its fall here in Wisconsin. While you're looking at the close up, notice the cute little flowers. The small punch  used on the flowers is such a pretty shape, its one of my favorites . . .  from Stampin'UP!'s Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack (see supply list below)

Tropical Flower Doubles as a Poinsettia

People who subscribe to Stampin'UP!'s Monthly Craft Kit received this flower stamp in the October Kit. The monthly stamp sets each have a unique name and October's was called "Blissful Bouquet".

Blissful Bouquet Stamp set from Stampin'UP!'s 2015 October Paper Pumpkin Kit

Pretty, right? It kind of looks like a tropical flower. A few days ago I posted this card made with the stamp set. It looks tropical, right? (click here to see other samples made with this set)

The nice thing about the Blissful Bouquet set is how versatile it is:
The flower shape can also be a poinsettia.

This card does involve some "fussy cutting" but it sure turns out pretty.  The Gold Glimmer Paper and Gold Cord and Gold Glitter Glue make the whole thing sparkly and festive and the texture embossed background gives it that wintry, snowy feeling.

Those of us who ARE subscribers to the monthly craft kits have access to buying refills for past kits (while supplies last). Stampin'UP! also makes additional full kits available to subscribers if they have extras, but again, only to subscribers.  And the good thing is that when you sign up, you have access to all the past kits that are still available, even the kits from before you joined.
The kit subscription is not expensive and its easy to join:
  • Sign-up HERE (only $19.95/month)
  • Your card is charged on the 10th of the month
  • Your kit ships around the 15th.
  • You can suspend the subscription if you're too busy or gone on vacation
  • No minimum commitment, you can quit anytime.
If you like the idea of the monthly craft kits then sign up now - if you're like me you'll forget as soon as you step away from the computer. And when you see more cute cards made with the kit stamp sets you'll be grumbling that you didn't sign up sooner.

Alternate Projects with the October Paper Pumpkin Kit

Stampin'UP!'s October 2015 Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set: Blissful BlossomsI'm curious? When you get out your stamping stuff do you stamp specifically to make a project or are you stamping as a way to play?  I'd love to hear from people in the comments section at the bottom of the post.

The reason I ask: The other day I challenged myself to see how many different things I could make with the October Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set: Blissful Bouquet.  This picture shows what I had to work with. I can honestly say this was one of my most fun "play days" ever.

For those of you wondering
??"Paper Pumpkin"??

Paper Pumpkin is the name of Stampin'UP!'s monthly craft kit.
Stampin'UP!'s October 2015 Paper Pumpkin Kit*Its a subscription service. $20 a month
(which includes shipping, but not tax)
*Every month you get a little stamp set and a small ink pad
*includes everything needed to make a pre-designed project.

Are you loving this stamp set as much as I am?  The flowers are beautiful and I love, love, love that font. Its so gorgeous. So . . . after making 1 each of the intended project (see them in yesterday's post) I started playing with the parts and came up with some designs of my own. Ready to see them?

Isn't it cool how you can get such a range of images from this set. Be sure to scroll down to yesterday's post to see the intended projects for this kit.

Did you skip this month and regret it?  Don't worry - if you're already a subscriber you can buy past kits (while supplies last).  And if you aren't a subscriber and wish you had been  (and why aren't you?  The kits are easy and fun) but if you aren't (yet) you can subscribe now. Then you'll be a subscriber and you can go back and order this past kit (but remember, its while supplies last). And really, $20 a month is cheap entertainment when you're stamping for fun.

Don't miss this month's fun - it will be shipping soon
Subscribe by the 10th to get the November Kit

And remember to leave a comment: do you stamp to make a specific card or do you stamp to play?
