The name comes from Cinderella and the concept of taking something plain, like a pumpkin and turning it into something grand and wonderful like the carriage.

FAQ:
Q: are the kits always card kits?
A: no, because you can do all sorts of fun things with paper - check out the September kit which was cute halloween treat boxes

Q: can we see them before they ship?
A: no, the kits ship once a month and Stampin'UP! has the kits manufactured prior to shipping based on subscription projections.

• But there are lots of other kits available to purchase that you can pick and choose from.

Q: What do I do if I don't like the kit?
A: That's easy, use the parts to make other projects.  September's kit was Halloween treat boxes. I personally don't give treat boxes for Halloween, so I turned them into cards instead. You can see my alternate projects here.

BTW: There is a Facebook group dedicated to subscribers sharing their alternate projects and additional cards made with the monthly kit supplies.

Q: If I do like it can I buy past kits?
A: Yes . . . if you are a subscriber and if there are any left.

Q: Are there refills available?
A: Yes . . . subscribers can buy refills when they are available

Q: How much does it cost?
A: in the US only $22 plus tax (shipping is already factored into that price)

Q: What all do I get for that $22

• a stamp set
• a small ink pad
• all the parts for the project: paper, ribbon, embellishments
• and the shipping is part of that price

Q: can I do a trial  subscription?
A: yes, absolutely. There are no minimum purchases required with this subscription

• you can suspend a month if you don't want to receive a kit that month, or change the number of kits you get

Color Combo Blog Hop

Today's card(s) were made for a color challenge. The colors this month are Stampin'UP"s Lovely Lipstick, Granny Apple Green and Crushed Curry.

An open ended challenge like this offers so many possibilities for imagery.  I ended up making 2 cards, very different from each other.  The first one features the ink colors and the second one features the paper colors.

This first card showcases ink colors on both the scarves of these Playful Penguins and in the sky behind them for the northern lights.

 

The scarves were stamped on white paper and the colors are very vibrant. They are more muted on the sky because they're sponged on blue cardstock. I did paint over the whole sky with Wink of Stella pen to give the sense of an icy cold winter scene. 

The 2nd card showcases the colored cardstock.  This set of colors seemed perfect for these happy little Halloween Monsters.

Of course there had to be some sparkle on this card too.  The glittered Organdy ribbon was a perfect way to add sparkle while still keeping with the darker colors.  And if you look closely at the horns of the first monster you'll see I covered them with a layer of clear glue to give them some shine.

Halloween Dresser Card With Cookie Cutter Halloween

Too cute!  This card was made by my friend Cheryl Wenker.  What a fun way to show off the little mummy and skeleton from the Cookie Cutter Halloween Stamp set. Here's a few details on Cheryl's card as well as info on the Cookie Cutter suite of products.

Whoohoo. I'm not a fan of fussy cutting, I do it when I have to, but there's no way I'd be able to cut that smooth and regular a shape for the little cookie guys.

To get the spooky look on black paper Cheryl used a White Craft Ink Pad.  The spider web and sentiment are heat embossed in white and then she sponged white around the drawers to make them stand out against the background.

Halloween Class Sample - Jar of Haunts

Working on getting samples ready for our Halloween Stamp Class. There are so many cute new sets in the new fall Holiday catalog that its tough to make a decision on which 5 cards to do.  I've made a bunch of samples with the Jar of Haunts set and we're doing this one for sure.

I usually go for more cutsy Halloween imagery and not the more ghoulish images.  But I was a biology major in college and the eyeballs in a jar strike me as kinda cute.  What do you think?

Spooky Fun Halloween Edgelits Step Card

Step cards always get a "wow" when you give them, and this spooky fun Halloween Step card with the glimmer paper pumpkins and the glimmer paper moon behind the tree branches is sure to get a double wow. Scroll to the bottom of this post for a template for cutting step cards

The bat, witch and other parts are die cut using Stampin'UP!'s Halloween Edgelits dies . . . except for the moon . . . I used a circle punch for the glimmer paper moon.  BTW: the most effective adhesive I've found for adhering things to glimmer paper is Glue Dots.

The stamped spider webs are from a set called Spooky Fun. Both the stamp set and the dies are in this season's Fall Holiday catalog. You could certainly hand draw the spiderwebs so its not like the stamps are essential to this project, but it does have some other really fun Halloween imagery. The stamp set and dies are sold individually, but if you decided to get them both you can bundle the product and save 10%.  See the product chart below.

The concept of a step card is simple. I like making step cards because they look hard and always get a wow, but are actually very easy to make.

• Start with a normal piece of cardstock, 8-1/2" x 5-1/2"
• Make a vertical slit in the mid-area to separate the card into 2 halves.
• On one side it needs a score line at the half-way mark (for a horizontal card thats at 4-1/4")
• On the other side score lines for the steps
