Celebrate Today with a Balloon

There's lots of ways to celebrate, but balloons always add a festive touch.
This card showcases a stamp set called "Celebrate Today
and some of the sparkly paper from a pack called Birthday Bash.

Card made with Stampin'UP!'s Celebrate Today stamp set and a bow die cut with the Balloon Framelit

Look closely at the Designer Paper . . . can you see the shiny gold?
There are bits of gold foil embedded in the paper.
I love it - its super fun and sparkly!

The sentiment and balloon are from a new photopolymer set called Celebrate Today.
and there's a matching set of 4 framelits too
  a balloon  -    a bow  -  a tassle  -   a pennant banner

You can buy the Celebrate Today stamp set and Balloon Framelits individually,
or save 15% when you buy them as a bundle.

See the bow on this card? Its cut with the bow framelit.
Adding a little diecut element like really helps make a project special.
And the self-stick rhinestones add more sparkle.

Card to Announce a New Home

Card made with the Holiday Home Stamps and Framelits.
This card with its happy little heart, all snuggled into a pristine snowbank was made for a friend who is moving away. In fact, I made her a whole set of cards so she has something to use to announce her new address.
Cards made with the Holiday Home Stamps and Framelits.

All 4 stamps: the sentiment, the heart, the snow and the house
are from a set called Holiday Home.

There's actually a lot you can do with this set. Holiday Home is a good name for the set because of the imagery for Halloween and Christmas. But there are so many other situations where a house image is useful. I can think of a ton of cute projects for this set that have nothing to do with the holidays.

# 135095  at $15.95 for the stamp set: Holiday Home
                                       # 135857  at $21.95 for the Framelits
Bundle and Save
only $31.95 for both the stamps and the Framelits, item # 137631
also available in both French and Spanish

I gave these cards as a gift so of course they needed a cute package.

Package of cards made with the Holiday Home Stamps and Framelits.

Stampin'UP! also sells the cellophane bags. The cellophane bags are 6x8 and perfect for bundling a set of cards as a gift. The bags come 50 to a package for only $4.95. Are you someone who likes to give packages of hand-made cards? A bundle of All Occasion Greeting Cards makes a great Holiday Gift and these Cellophane Bags can be embellished to make a really pretty package.

Here's a close-up of the packaging. The tag greeting is from a set called Really Good Greetings. The cotton ribbon and Snowflake ornament embellishment really dress it up.

COLORS!  Notice the perfect match of inkpaper,  and ribbon.  This is why you should buy all your color product from one company. So everything matches! Thats one of the first things that drew me to Stampin'UP! product - the ability to have my projects color coordinated.

The Blue color on this card is Marina Mist and the paper, ink and ribbon are all part of the regular product line.  However, the snowflake embellishment and the Holiday Home stamps and framelits are part of the Fall Holiday offerings and will only be available through December, as long as supplies last

If you like the House Stamps and Framelits and the snowflake embellishment you should get them now. I confess I often sell my retired product once its no longer current, but this one is a keeper for me. The shape is just so unique and versatile that I'm glad I have it in my collection.

You can buy Stampin'UP! product HERE from my on-line store.

Wondrous Wreath Baby Card

Baby Card made with Stampin'UP!'s Wondrous Wreath SetWreaths are wonderful things. You can use them to decorate for so many occasions. The same holds true for Stampin'UP!'s Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set and matching Framelits.

Wondrous Wreath is in the Holiday Catalog, where as you might expect there are lots of holiday related samples.

But a wreath is appropriate anywhere that you'd decorate with flowers and leaves, and so too for cards.  Here is a baby card we made in class last weekend. Those soft yellows and greens make it useful for a boy or a girl.

Stampin'UP!'s Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set Here's what the stamp set looks like. Do the images look strange?  If you're like me it might take a minute to figure it out - but the images are intended to overlay.

If you look carefully at the wreath card pictures you'll see that some leaves are darker than others.  You stamp the full wreath 1st and then overstamp with the smaller set of leaves in a darker color.

That combination creates a gorgeous "wow" effect.  Definitely leaves an impression (oops, I didn't intend the leaf pun).

Other details on this baby card:
the 2 green colors are: Pistachio Pudding and Wild Wasabi with Daffodil Yellow
The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Banners Stamp Set

And in case you're wondering NO! I did not fussy cut all those shapes.  Both the Itty Bitty Banners Stamp set and the Wondrous Wreath Stamp set have matching framelits that will die cut the shape for you and the tiny flower is from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

Did I convince you to put this set on your Wish List?  The Wondrous Wreath stamps and framelits are in the Holiday Catalog and will be available through December of 2014. You can order any of these items from my Stampin'UP! store.

Sympathy Card made with Secret Garden Stamps and Framelits

I got this beautiful sympathy card from a fellow demonstrator - Lori Verdon. She did several things that make this card ideal for a sympathy card: the line of images flowing from corner to corner  - and - the single flower stamped in a lighter color.

Sympathy card made with Stampin'UP!'s Secret Garden stamp set

Lori chose perfect colors for a sympathy card, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso. This neutral palette sets an appropriate tone for the occasion. These gorgeous flower images are from a stamp set called Secret Garden. But the choice of neutral colors allows the focus to be on the sentiment.
Stampin'UP!'s Secret Garden stamp set

Did you notice the raised flower? One thing I so appreciate about Stampin'UP! is the matched sets of stamps and dies. Lori could have "fussy cut" the flowers. But why bother when there's a set of matching framelits to make life easy!

Here are a couple of other projects made with the Secret Garden stamps and Framelits.
Card made with StampinUP's Secret Garden stamps and framelit dies
This flower looks so delicate when stamped in white on pink paper.
And what a time-saver to be able to die cut the image instead of fussy cutting!

Do you agree that those die cut leaves look great even without stamping an image.

Happy Whale Swimming on a Ribbon Sea

Card made with Stampin'UP!'s Happy Whale Die
Here's a happy little whale swimming on an ocean of ribbon.  Can't you just see him flicking his tale in the water?

Stampin'UP!'s Dotted Scallop Ribbon is perfect for the water in this card.  The scallops along the ribbon edge look just like waves on the ocean and the dots look like white caps. The new cloud embossing folder is a nice addition to the sky.

Stampin'UP!'s Happy Whale Die and Oh Whale Stamp Set.The whale is cut with a new die available in the Spring Mini catalog called Happy Whale and it cuts several shapes besides just the whale.  It also cuts a heart, an anchor, a star, a little fish and some water drops.  And of course, since he's a die you can face him either way - or both ways.

What makes me really happy is that this die matches a stamp set called Oh Whale.  The die is clear where it cuts the whale so you can line it up perfectly with the stamped image of the whale.

The sentiment on this card says "Get Whale Soon".  The other sentiments in the set are:
**Whalecome!
**Thanks a ton!
**Whale you be mine?
And look at your options for his blow spout!  He can blow hearts and letters.

I've had so much fun playing with this set. You're sure to see more samples with this Happy Whale. You can get your own Oh Whale Stamp Set and Happy Whale Die, Cloud embossing folder and Marina Mist Dotted Scallop Ribbon  here  in my Stampin'UP! store.

If you don't already have a Stampin'UP! demonstrator I'd love to be yours.

Secret Garden Stamps and Framelits

I remember reading a book called: The Secret Garden, when I was a kid. The heroine found a forgotten garden and it became her own private refuge.  In this garden she found many treasures.

One of the "treasures" about Stampin'UP! is the fact that so many stamp sets are designed to go with punches and dies. On this card both the leaf and the flower are die cut.

The leaf was just cut from green cardstock.  The flower was stamped first and then die cut. I'll "fussy cut" when I have to, but personally, I really appreciate the matching dies.

The flower is from a new stamp set called Secret Garden - just in time for spring and all the wonderful flowers that will soon be here.

And look at how many different flower shapes we get!  I can see I'll be making some tough choices because they're all so pretty.

And speaking of choices, it was hard to decide exactly how to place them on the card.  But that's OK - because it was so easy to die cut the flowers and leaves instead of fussy cutting with a scissors. So just I made a couple of different cards.

What do you think?  Any preference on the placement of that bottom leaf?  Leave a comment below to say which one you like best.

Oh, Whale Valentine

Card Made with Stampin'UP!'s new whale die cut and Oh, Whale stamp set and Oh, Wave Wheel
Aren't these whales just the cutest?  Stampin'UP! has a new little die that cuts the shape of the whale.  And because they are die cuts you can face them either direction. So for Valentines Day you can make "kissing whales".

I really love how Stampin'UP! coordinates product. This die has a matching stamp set and a matching wheel.  These whales are swimming in water that was stamped with the wheel.  And the words and the hearts are from the stamp set.

Do you have your copy of the Spring Mini Catalog yet?  You really should take time to browse through it. There is a ton of really cute stuff.  Contact me to get your paper version or download the PDF here.

the Big Shot is on sale

today only you can get it for $79.97

Why do you want the Big Shot?  Oh my. The difference in your projects when you can add texture embossing and die cuts is just amazing.  Take an ordinary card and turn it into a WOW creation.

I use mine ALL the time! Seriously.  Take some time to look back through my blog posts, even if its just the last month.  Count how many of them have either a die cut on them or some pressure embossing.  I can't imagine my stamping life without this machine.

Christmas card made with the Big Shot alphabet die cuts and square lattice embossing folderHere's an example that has BOTH!
The background for this Christmas card was embossed with the Big Shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder.  That background texture really adds to the elegance of this card.

The letters were cut with the Big Shot using the  Typeset Alphabet Die Set.  This is a "must have" if you are doing scrapbooking with any lettering.  Of course since its the whole alphabet the set is a bit pricey - so I am just delighted when I can use it for cards too!

Christmas card made with the Big Shot alphabet die cuts and square lattice embossing folderThe ornament was stamped with the  Ornament Keepsakes stamp set. I punched the stamped circle. I then re-stamped and silver embossed the tip for the cap on the ornament.  The ornament base was die cut from Red Glimmer paper with the Holiday Ornaments Framelits. I love the fact that Stampin'UP! makes matching stamps and dies!  My life is so much simpler.

There was lots of punching on this card too. The greenery was punched with the Bird Builder punch and held on with Glue Dots.  The berries were small circles punched from Red Glimmer paper.

So what do you think?  Is there a Big Shot in your life?  Already have one?  Want one?  Either way be sure you check out all the items on the sale list.  And while you're at it, be sure to check out the Clearance Rack.  You never know what amazing deals you'll find there.
