Embossed Snow Flurries

Snow flurries are in the forecast - at least here in Wisconsin.  So . . . with thoughts of the white stuff in my head, today I offer you this. A little Flurry of Wishes for a happy day.

Snowflake card made with Stampin'UP!'s Flurry of Wishes Stamp Set

Simple and Sparkly: On this card I wanted something that reflected the simple clean but sparkly look of a fresh winter snowfall. I did three things to get that look.
1.  I keep the colors to a minimum: Soft Sky, White, black (sentiment) and Silver
2.  The sparkle comes from both the rhinestones and the silver glimmer paper
3.  And extra shine comes from embossing the snowflakes

Heat embossing adds a subtle but impressive accent to a project.  Here I stamped the snowflakes in white craft ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  Its a great effect.

Do you have a snowflake stamp set?  There are some shapes that are just basic that I think should be in everyone's craft shelf. And in my opinion, I think everyone should have a basic snowflake set, even if you live in the desert or the tropics, a snowflake is just a basic shape.

Flurry of Wishes is available at least through May of 2016. You'll find it on page 48 of the Occasions catalog and if you still have the 2015 Holiday catalog its on page 25. Do you like these snowflakes? The super cool thing about this particular snowflake stamp set is that it has a matching punch.  And the super cool thing about Stampin'UP! is that they bundle products like this and let you save 15% when you buy them together. Cool, right?  (bad pun there, get it?  snow and cool, sorry . . . maybe my brain is a little frostbitten)

Flurry of Wishes Snowflake Card

What's outside your window?  Here in southern Wisconsin things are beautiful. The leaves on the trees are gorgeous shades of Cajun Craze, Delightful Dijon and Crushed Curry . . . mixed in with a few still holding on to their summer Pear Pizzazz. Its too bad fall can't last longer because we all know winter is on its way. Soon the air will be filled with a Flurry of Snowflakes. So, thinking ahead to those winter flurries . . . here's today's card.

The images are from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set. Check out this gorgeous black and white snowflake card with the acetate window strip in the front. It was made by my friend Terry Schultz and was a prize winner at our last Demo Meeting.

The Flurry of Wishes set has 4 different size snowflakes and, true to form, Stampin'UP! has a matching punch. Check it out . . . the punch can actually punch 2 snowflakes at a time! Which is a nice time  saving feature, especially if you're mass producing Christmas Cards.

And here's the really cool thing about the Flurry of Wishes stamp set:  - the 2nd largest snowflake in this set is shaped to work with the Flower Medallion punch

By the way: that punch just happens to be on sale this week

The Flower Medallion punch is normally $18, but its on sale this week for $13.50    Whoohoo!  Perfect timing for making those Holiday Cards.

Snowflakes are not just for Christmas. In fact, I think everyone needs a good snowflake set and the Flurry of Wishes set along with the Snow Flurry Punch and Flower Medallion Punch makes a really versatile combination. Note in the supply list below that you can get the stamps or the punch individually, but you save 15% when you buy them as a bundle. The bundle is a different item number.

Here is the Product List for this card:
