Glimmer Paper Diecut Brilliant Wings Butterfly Inlay

Today's project showcases a die cut technique called INLAY
The concept is simple: cut a shape and lay it back into its hole.

Glimmer paper butterfly Inlay card using Stampin'Up!'s Brilliant Wings Dies

Gorgeous paper, right?  Its glimmer paper! A.W.E.S.O.M.E.
I used Stampin'Up!'s new 2022-2024 In-Color Glimmer Paper
and did you notice the subtle ombre effect in the color ... so pretty
full product list below

Lets talk adhesives for a minute . . . for 2 reasons.

#1:  notice the fluttery effect on the butterfly wings?
the butterfly has adhesive under only the body so the wings are free to lift up

#2: the surface of any glimmer paper presents a challenge
using something flexible like a Glue Dot or foam Dimensionals
helps keep parts like the sentiment piece attached to the surface of glimmer paper

The nice thing about videos is you can fast forward thru the parts you don't need to see.
BTW I post how-to videos each Monday on my FB page,

This card has such a happy, summery, carefree feel. I love the bright colors.
Do you have a butterfly punch or die?  Are you feeling inspired?

Fall Sunflower Card with an Ombre Look

Here's a fun inking technique that results in making 3 cards at once.

Beautiful tri-color autumn / Fall card with an ombre look using Stampin'Up!'s Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set

The concept is easy - cut three pieces of cardstock the same size and stamp.
Cut each piece into thirds and mix up the pieces.

series of 3 pictures shows how to create the tri-color ombre look using Stampin'Up!'s Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set

The key is to get the stamp positioned in exactly the same place on each piece of paper.
Realistically you can not do this without using a stamp positioning tool
like the Stamparatus

Then you end up with 3 fun flowers to use on cards.
Here are just a few ideas for ways to use the strips.

Ombre Emboss Resist with Breathtaking Bouquet

Today's card features a combination of 2 techniques:
an ombre coloring combined with a heat emboss resist

Card made with Stampin'UP!'s Breathtaking Bouquet stamp set using ombre coloring and heat emboss resist technique

Heat Emboss Resist is an easy technique,
you heat emboss an image and apply color over it.
The paper accepts the ink but the material used to emboss does not.

With an emboss resist your color choice can produce different results...

Link to additional samples of cards made with the Heat Emboss Resist Technique

In that post I applied the color with an art sponge
For the ombre effect on today's card I used a sponge brayer
While I'm sure you could use a sponge for this,
given the large area I felt I got better coverage with the brayer.

Sponge Brayer and 3 colors used on the Ombre Resist card

The image is the Breathtaking Bouquet background stamp
which is very "busy". So the sentiment needed to be big and bold.

Card made with Stampin'UP!'s Breathtaking Bouquet stamp set using ombre coloring and heat emboss resist technique with a sentiment from Seriously the Best

The sentiment is from a set called Seriously the Best
And not to get too punny on you, but combining
a heat resist with ombre coloring gives a background
that truly is seriously, the best!

Puns aside, seriously . . . I hope I have inspired you to
pull out your supplies and play.
And if you need any supplies I can provide those too.
