Glassine Gift Bags with Copper Embossing

How do you wrap presents? Traditional box and wrapping paper?
How about a sweet little hand-decorated gift bag?

I recently made a dozen of these and they went together very quickly. I'm the coordinator of an event and I wanted to give a gift to all the helpers. Stampin'UP! actually sells these little gift bags so it was really easy to put together.
  • Each bag contains a small item as the gift
  • I decorated a piece of cardstock
  • Folded the bag closed and attached the decoration with a little gold clip. Voila! super easy.

The flowers are my new favorite die: the Botanical Builders dies - I really like all the dimension and texture you get with these dies. And speaking of texture: the base of the card is both texture embossed and heat embossed. I used the same copper embossing powder as on this feather card. I'm LOVING how creamy/metallic it looks.

Botanical Blooms Water Bottle

Look at this cute water bottle I got at a recent meeting.  Everyone who attended had one of these waiting for them at their seat. My goodness, it was so pretty I almost didn't want to use it.

Water Bottle Decoration made with Botanical Blooms Dies and Paper

The basic construction is really easy.
  • You start with a strip of paper and fold the bottom end up to form the pocket for some tea or a flavor packet.
  • Fold the top down and punch a hole to slip over the top of the water bottle.
  • Then decorate and make it pretty like this one.

The decorations are from the Botanical Blooms product suite found in the new Occasions Catalog. Deb Geier and Norma Artman made them for the attendees to our last Madison Area Demonstrator Meeting. Click here to see another project I made with these dies. If you want to re-create Deb and Norma's water  bottles the chart below shows all the product they used.

Mini Treat Bag Gift Card Holder

A few days ago I posted photos of a small treat bag along with a some ideas for small gifts that would fit in the bags.  You can see that earlier post HERE.  Today's post shows you one more idea for using Mini Treat bags.

Mini Treat Bag used as a Gift Card Holder, decorated with Botanical Blooms Builder Die Pieces

This bag was made by my friend Lori Verdon.
Lori's idea is to use the bag as a gift card holder.
I think her use of the punched butterfly as a handle to pull out the insert is brilliant.

Mini Treat Bag used as a Gift Card Holder, decorated with Botanical Blooms Builder Die Pieces

Lori use the Mini Treat Bag Die to create the bag. I've used that die myself and its pretty easy. The die cuts 2 pieces which are scored. After you fold along the score lines there's only 3 lines of glue to hold it together.

I like the fresh spring look of Lori's project.  The Calypso and Olive colors are nice and bright against the Vanilla of the bag itself.  The flowers were cut with the Botanical Builder die.  The more projects I see using this die the more I really like it.  The Botanical Builder die does exactly what its name says, it lets you build projects with depth like this one.

Here's a complete list of the product Lori used on this project.
