Super Easy Gift Boxes

#EasyGiftPackaging

Tis the season of gift giving - which also means finding cute gift packaging that's also quick and easy! If you're like me you are probably also stressed for time . . . so I love it when I find packaging that is inexpensive, cute, goes together quickly and lets me be creative! And you'll appreciate this: today's blog hop features lots of ways to offer cute gift packaging so be sure to click through all the links.

Box of Valentine in a Stampin'Up! Acetate Box decorated with images from the Meant To Be Stamp set

My project is this acetate box full of sparkly Valentine cards.  I have a friend who loves to send handmade cards but no longer has the dexterity of hand to make them herself. I'm giving her a set of 6 Valentines packaged in this acetate box decorated with a cute tag and ready for her to send.  I'm thinking she's going to "love" it (pun intended).

Gift Tag decorated with Stampin'UP!'s Detailed Trio Punch and images from the Meant To Be Stamp set

Did you notice the cute image punched in the corner of the tag? That was done with the Detailed Trio Punch (product links below).  Its a super easy way to add some interest to a project.  And the bonus is that the punch does 3 things! It punched that little corner image. It can also round the corners, and it punches an oval hole perfect for the ribbon to go through.

The image stamped on the tag is from a new set called Meant to Be that will be available in the Occasions Catalog in January.

These boxes are so easy.  For only $7.00 you get 10 boxes and they come pre-scored.  All you have to do is fold them, insert your gift and add a cute tag and some ribbon. Voila!

And with only that first card peeking out of the box at you I figured you'd appreciate a sneak peek at the rest of the set.  I'll be featuring each of these cards in future blog posts so be sure to check back again. Here is the link to continue on today's hop.

Affectionately Yours Floral Gatefold with a Belly Band

This beautiful Gatefold card has a lovely belly band decorated with punched and die cut flowers and a sentiment banner. This card was made by Sue Fischbach and it was a winner in our recent demo card contest. When you look at these pictures you'll know why it won.

Gate Fold card with a heart opening

Gate Fold means that the card opens in the middle.  For a regular gatefold you'd start with a normal 8-1/2" x 11" sheet of cardstock and cut it longways and you'd score at 2-3/4" from each short end.

This is a special gatefold because Susan started with a 12x12 sheet of cardstock and cut it to 12"x5.5". She then scored at 4" from each end and then 2" from each end. Her finished card was the same height as a normal card but a tad thinner (5.5"x4"). In this next photo you can see how Sue folded the scored flaps.

To create the heart openings Sue lined up the heart die on the 2" fold line to center it for cutting.

With this type of fold the card tends to want to open up by itself, so a pretty belly band helps you present it neatly.  Plus a belly band is always a classy addition to a card.

Speaking of additions to the card, check out the inside!

Heart with woven Designer Paper Strips and Floral Affection Texture Embossing

Sue made her inside heart extra special by cutting a heart shaped hole in the blue paper to line up with the heart shaped holes in the gate flaps. She then wove strips of designer paper to fill the hole. Wow!  No wonder this card was a winner in our card contest.

And check out the pretty floral texture embossing above the heart.  I thought this was a very creative way to use the small Floral Affection embossing folder. Its a perfect addition to the inside of this card because it adds texture without taking your attention away from the main feature.

Are you inspired to play? Heres a list of the products Susan used on her card.

Gift Box with a Belly Band

This is a beautiful hand made gift box with belly band, made by my friend Sue Adams.

Sue used Stampin'UP!'s Box Punch Board to make the box itself.
What a great tool - you can make lots of different size boxes
and the tool event notches the corners so the box stays closed.

A belly band is a great way to take a plain project and really dress it up.

Sue's Belly Band is gorgeous!
Wow, this was an over-the-top effort with lots of different punches:
the Balloon Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Bow Builder Punch and Banner Punch.
All beautifully accented with some gold cord.

Sue's box was for a birthday. Everyone loves a little gift.
What occasion would you use for a cute box  with a belly band like this?
Wedding Favor?  Thank-you Gift?  Retirement?  Valentine?  Thinking of You?

Here are the supplies she used:
