How to Mask - with the Sept Paper Pumpkin Kit

If you're like me, in November my projects start to incorporate fall imagery and sentiments of gratitude. So here is my offering for today.

Fall Thanksgiving Card made with Stampin'UP! September 2015 Paper Pumpkin Kit Stamp Set

The sentiment, leaves and pumpkin are all from
the September 2015 Paper Pumpkin Kit.

Stampin'UP! September 2015 Paper Pumpkin Kit Stamp Set

"Paper Pumpkin" is Stampin'UP!'s monthly craft kit.

Each month you get a cute little stamp set, a small ink pad or two and all the supplies to make a fun craft project.

The intended project for this kit was a home decor item, but just look at the stamps I got.  I LOVE 'em.  They're perfect for lots of fall projects.

Links to other cards I made with this set:

**Rock & Roll with the Oak Leaf
**Candy Card with the Witch's Hat
**The intended project and an Acorn Card using the acorn, pumpkin and leaf stamps for background.

BTW: the craft kit is a subscription - $19.95 a month +tax.
- Fun - Cute - Flexible (put it on "hold" during a busy month)
- No Commitment  (quit any time if you decide its not for you)

Stamping Tips

Fall Thanksgiving Card made with Stampin'UP! September 2015 Paper Pumpkin Kit Stamp Set

Pumpkin: I got the 2-tone pumpkin by first inking the whole stamp in Pumpkin Pie and then I colored the stem with the Chocolate Chip Marker before stamping on the paper.

Layered Images - How to Mask:
To make it appear that the leaves are behind the pumpkin I "masked" the pumpkin. You always stamp the image that is to appear in front first.

1. Stamp the Pumpkin on the project
2. Stamp again on a post-a-note and cut out
3. Put the post a note piece over the image on
the project (to protect it from the leaf inks)
4. Stamp the leaves, half-on/half-off the pumpkin
5. remove the Post-a-note

Other Product Details

Thanks for Stopping by: Take a minute and browse previous posts. If you see anything you like I'm happy to help you get the product or just to consult and explain further how the project was made . . . its all about having fun with our hobby.
