Come to Gather Leaves

Just a quick post today to show you some of what I've been working on.

These are the leaves from the Gather Together Stamp set and Gathered Leaves Dies

Fall is such a fun time for stamping. I love the color pallette and playing with new techniques for distressing the project.

One common and easy way to give a distressed look is to sponge the edges of the paper. Its simple but very effective.

The coloring here is also very simple. After the leaf was stamped I just did some random watercoloring on top and then diecut.

How to Mask - with the Sept Paper Pumpkin Kit

If you're like me, in November my projects start to incorporate fall imagery and sentiments of gratitude. So here is my offering for today.

The sentiment, leaves and pumpkin are all from 

the September 2015 Paper Pumpkin Kit.

Stamping Tips

Pumpkin: I got the 2-tone pumpkin by first inking the whole stamp in Pumpkin Pie and then I colored the stem with the Chocolate Chip Marker before stamping on the paper.

Layered Images - How to Mask:  

To make it appear that the leaves are behind the pumpkin I "masked" the pumpkin. You always stamp the image that is to appear in front first.

1. Stamp the Pumpkin on the project

2. Stamp again on a post-a-note and cut out

3. Put the post a note piece over the image on 

    the project (to protect it from the leaf inks)

4. Stamp the leaves, half-on/half-off the pumpkin

5. remove the Post-a-note
