This darling little spiral flower with a chocolate in the center
would make the perfect table favor for a party.

Table Favor made with Stampin'UP!'s Spiral Flower Die

Who wouldn't want to sit down to a meal
and have one of these lovely flowers marking their spot?

Candy favors are always a hit
and with a chocolate "kiss" in the middle
its perfect for a wedding or bridal shower

These are really easy to make
using your Big Shot and the Spiral Flower Die.
You just cut your piece and roll it into a flower.

As mentioned in the video, this is a steel cut die
that means that it can cut multiple sheets of paper at a time
which is a real advantage if you are mass producing for a party.

Dress Framelit Favors

The Senior Center in Monona is having a Fashion Show in May. I was honored to be asked to help design the Table Favors. Of course the first thing I thought of was our cute Dress Framelits Dies.

The Dress Framelit set has 3 basic shapes.
The dress on the right worked best for having a fold at the shoulders.

To cut the dress with the fold in the shoulder I folded the Designer Paper in half and made sure the fold line was inside the cut line of the framelit.

The decorations to the dress were simple:
  • A belt - made of ribbon with a bow
  • A shoulder "corsage" - made with a small punched scallop circle with a rhinestone in the center.
BTW: the small scallop punch is
On Sale through Monday
Its part of the Itty Bitty Punch pack,
normally $16.95, on sale this week for only $12.71
You can see all the Weekly Deals here.

And here's a ribbon tip:  I measured and cut the short strips for the belt itself and attached them with glue dots. But for the bow I found I needed about a 4" piece to comfortably tie the bow (at least with my fingers), but then the tails were too long and I was wasting a lot of ribbon cutting them down to size.  To avoid the waste I tied the knot while the ribbon was still on the spool and cut the knot off the spool.

The candies were easy to attach.  Just put a little strip of double sticky tape on the inside bottom "hem" of each dress and use the dress like a "tweezers" to pick up the candy. The dress is now directly attached to the sides of the candy and the candy is what lets it stand up. Voila!

I'm happy to help YOU design something special for YOUR event too

Punch Art Leaf from a Circle Punch

Circle punches have so many uses.

The 2 large circles on this card were made
with Stampin'UP!'s 2-1/2" circle punch.

Using circles for background layers is so quick and easy. You don't have to measure anything, just punch and put the card together.

The leaves were also made with a circle punch.
In fact, this card was our
Technique of the Month for March.

  • We punched a 1" circle
  • Then, we put the circle piece we'd just cut BACK into the punch to trim off part of the edge. That's how you get the "football" shape for the leaf.
  • You can make any width: wide or narrow
  • The technique works with oval punches too.
If you like learning new techniques and if you're local to the Madison Area, then check out my class listings. I teach daytime classes at 4 area community centers: Verona, Monona, and Oregon. And will be starting a new group in Fitchburg this month.

I'm also available for private classes.  Contact me to reserve a time for your group.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you've been inspired
