Big Shot Owl for World Card Making Day

World Card Making Day

Today is World Card Making Day

World Card Making Day was created by Paper Crafts Magazine in 2006. It was conceived of as a way to celebrate the many fall holidays and to highlight the opportunities we have to create and send unique greeting cards for those holidays. It has been celebrated every year since then on the first Saturday in October

Owl Card made with the Big Shot Top Note Die

Big Shot Owl Card

Silly Me! Today is World Card Making Day and I scheduled a Big Shot Class instead. We're doing 5 projects for the class and 4 of the 5 are not cards!

So in the spirit of celebrating the day I searched my card archives for a card made with Big shot dies and found this little cutie. The branch he's sitting on was cut with the paper cutter, but everything else is either big shot or punch.

Both his body and his head are created with the Top Note Die (#113463). What you can't see from this photo is that the head flips up and the message is written under his head.

The feet were made with the 5-petal flower punch (#119880) and his eyes are just circle punches. But his belly is also made with the Big Shot, its the inside of the Frame Oval Scallop Die (#114521).

If you like this owl, then check out my little owl goodie bag. This top note die is great for making punch art faces. How about using it for a snowman?

So there's my post covering both events: World Card Making Day and the Big Shot class.

Oops! Did you miss out on this class because you didn't know about it? Don't Miss the Next one
