Eye-catching Evergreen Die Cut

This gorgeous evergreen card offers so much to catch the eye. There is a lot of dimension on this card ranging from the die cut piece to the variations in the ink.

I really enjoyed playing with the In the Woods Framelits Dies.  That evergreen tree would have been beautiful enough as a simple die cut. But wow! The die also cuts all those raised branches.  This evergreen tree is so much fun to play with. I also used it to make these placecards for a family gathering. These framelit dies were a product in the fall catalog and I was so excited to see it carry over through the spring.

Get more use from your stamps. Use a marker to ink up only selected words.

TODAY I HAVE 2 STAMPING TIPS:

Tip #1: The sentiment was meant for a Christmas greeting but I wanted to use it as a simple "thinking of you".

So I used a marker to ink up just the part of the stamp I wanted to use.

But if you look closely you'll see that several of the trees were stamped without re-inking the stamp and are therefore lighter on the paper.  This "stamping-off" technique gives the illusion of depth.

In this side view you can see that I also stamped a few pine cones and branches on the inside.

Is your family outdoorsy?
Our family has always been the outdoors type. We love to hike, camp, garden and in general spend time near trees.  I know I'm going to be getting a lot of use from the In the Woods Framelits Dies.
