Coloring on Craft Paper

Today's post shows the effect of coloring on craft paper. I wanted to try something a little different. Most of my stamping is on white paper, but really, there's no reason not to stamp on colored paper.

With the darker paper color I wanted the image to really "pop" so the image is heat embossed with white embossing powder. I did the same thing for the envelope - heat embossed in white and then colored with markers.

Another way to make images "pop" is to add some sparkle. Time to dig out the glitter glue and Wink of Stella.  OMG - this butterfly is So-o-o-o pretty, the photo does not do it justice.

Coloring on Craft Paper was the "Technique of the Month" at our May events.  The photo below is from our technique card so if you plan to try this check out the helpful hints - especially the part about wiping it afterwards if you emboss.

What color would you make this flower? It doesn't have to be yellow. I took a whole bunch of markers to the class and people really went to town. We had a bunch (pun intended) of gorgeous hydrangeas. Here's one made by one of my stampers.
