Glassine Bags Candy Corn Treat Pouch and Punch Art Bat

Yesterday I showcased the 3d trades I got at our last demo meeting.
Today is the one I made.

Bat Halloween Treat Bag made with Stampin'UP! Glassine Bags and Owl Punch

I started with Stampin'UP!'s Glassine Bags.  You get 10 bags for only $4 so they're a cheap way to give a really cute gift. And they're translucent, so people can see what you're giving them.  And they have some pretty little dots decorating them. They don't show up too well on my photo but you can see them better in this shot of the bags alone.

Stampin'UP! Sketched Dots Glassine Bags

I sponged the bags with Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie ink to get that "mouthwatering"  Candy Corn look. I was a little worried about the ink smearing, but the bags actually dried pretty quickly. Yay!

Bat Punch Art made with Stampin'UP!'s Owl Builder Punch

Do you like my little Black Glimmer paper owl bat?  His body is the Owl Builder Punch and his wings are the Extra Large Oval Punch.  I used a 1-1/4" circle punch on the ovals to shape the pointy wings.

This is definitely a Kid Friendly Project.  They'll love sponging the ink and playing with the punches.

By the Way - If you're local (Dane Co. WI)  then join me to make Halloween Cards on Sunday October 11th.

Thanks for Stopping by: If you see anything you like I'm happy to help you get the product or just to consult and explain further how the project was made.  Really, its all about just having fun with our hobby.

Mini Treat Bag Thinlit - the Most Popular 3D Trade

Our MASSive Madison Area Stampin'UP! Demonstrators meeting offers lots of great training and trading opportunities for local demos.  We have so much fun and we get tons of great samples too.  If you're a local demo looking for some networking opportunities you are welcome to join us. We meet 3x a year, each time there's a new catalog.  Don't worry about being a stranger, we're actually more than just one downline . . . we just like the opportunity to talk and play and trade cards.

We have several Trade Categories and a Contest to go along with the trading. At our Sept meeting the most popular 3D trade was using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. In fact, the winning entry, by Jen Degroff, was also made with this product.

Super Simple Spooky Spider Halloween Card

Today I'm sharing a card I got from my downline Sue Adams.  What a great card. I LOVE the simplicity of this: a spider stamp, a greeting and the right colors.  This would be a great card for kids to make.  (scroll down to see a card I made with this set)

Spider Halloween Card made with Stampin'UP!'s Howl-o-ween Treat Stamp Set

Sue stamped the spider randomly and used Silver Dazzling Details glitter glue to make the spider's thread - because even a spooky Halloween card needs some sparkle, right?

My granddaughter would love doing this. There's no wrong way to make this card, the spiders can go anywhere. Of course I might want to help her with the glitter glue part, but really . . .  its so easy to squeeze out I think she could handle it.

Sue used markers on the sentiment stamp to get the multi-colored effect. Great combination, right?  Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Blackberry Bliss.  My granddaughter is pretty little so I'd probably have her stamp it in just one color, but I'm sure older kids can handle markers on the stamp just fine.

Both the sentiment and the spider are from a set called Howl-o-ween Treat. The set comes in either clear mount or wood mount.  AND there's a matching set of framelits available if you want them. Cute, cute cute! An owl, a witches hat, the creepy skull and a bone. And I find that I'm using the word BOO! on a lot of projects.

You can buy the framelits separately or Bundle the Stamps and Framelits and save 15%.  I'm so excited that Stampin'UP! is making matching sets like this.  It really expands what you can do with a set.

Here's a card I made with the Owl and pumpkin basket from the Howl-o-ween Treat set
and I cut them out with the matching Boo to You Framelit Dies

Christmas Greeting Thinlet over Embossed and sponged Snowflakes

The vellum on this card gives a beautiful soft look to the snowflakes. I'm proud to say this is one of the runner-up cards from our contest last weekend.

Card made with Stampin'UP!'s Holly Jolly Greetings Stamp set and Christmas Greetings Thinlit Dies

To get the soft look of this card I embossed the snowflakes in white on vellum cardstock and then sponged the blues  (Soft Sky and Bermuda Bay) on the back. Its on a card base of Soft Sky, but I found that to make it really 'pop' it needed to be on a layer of white.

Are you loving that big snowflake? Its from a set called Holly Jolly Greetings.  With 17 different words you have tons of options for phrasing.  And if that's not enough you can combine the stamped words with a die cut word.  The "peace" on this card was cut with the Christmas Greetings Thinlits.  And of course, Stampin'UP! lets you save 15% when you bundle select product.  Check it out on page 34 of the 2015 Holiday Catalog, or enter the key word Holly Jolly in the search tab of my on-line store.

This card has a very soft, pretty look and the white snowflakes really stand out with the blue sponged behind them, but I think the thing that made this card a winner was all the sparkle. The sentiment is die cut from Silver Glimmer Paper. And the rhinestones and silver cord add just that extra special touch.

Card contest winnersWe had several categories in our contest: the last 2 days showed the first place winner and one of the runner-up cards. This post  showcases another of the runner-up cards, tomorrow you'll see the last 2 runner up cards and later in the week I'll show the winning projects in the other categories. Of course EVERYTHING is made with Stampin'UP! product.

Acetate Window Card with Flurry of Wishes

Check out the acetate window strip on this card.  This is one of the runner-up cards in our contest from last weekend and you can see why it was a winner.

Card made with Stampin'UP!'s Flurry of Wishes Stamp Set and matching Snowflake Flurry Punch

This card was made by Terry Schultz of Cross Plains.  The acetate window sheet strip on the front lets you see the stamped snowflakes and sentiment on the inside of the card. This is such a cool card.

Stampin'UP!'s Flurry of Wishes Stamp Set and matching Snowflake Flurry PunchThere is so much sparkle on this card, my photo just does not do it justice.  The two snowflakes on the front are both silver embossed and all 4 snowflakes have a rhinestone in the center.

The contrast between the black card base and the silver glimmer paper really adds to the wow factor on this project.  Nice job Terry!

The snowflakes and the sentiment are from a set called Flurry of Wishes.  And while you certainly could cut the snowflakes by hand, since she was making a bunch of these as trade cards I'm sure Terry was thrilled that there's a matching punch.

Card contest winnersWe had several categories in our contest: Tuesday's post showcased the 1st place winner, this post  showcases one of the runner-up cards, tomorrow you'll see another runner up cards and later in the week I'll show the winning projects in the other categories.
