Christmas Greeting Thinlet over Embossed and sponged Snowflakes

The vellum on this card gives a beautiful soft look to the snowflakes. I'm proud to say this is one of the runner-up cards from our contest last weekend.

To get the soft look of this card I embossed the snowflakes in white on vellum cardstock and then sponged the blues  (Soft Sky and Bermuda Bay) on the back. Its on a card base of Soft Sky, but I found that to make it really 'pop' it needed to be on a layer of white.

Are you loving that big snowflake? This card has a very soft, pretty look and the white snowflakes really stand out with the blue sponged behind them, but I think the thing that made this card a winner was all the sparkle. The sentiment is die cut from Silver Glimmer Paper. And the rhinestones and silver cord add just that extra special touch.
