Monthly Craft Kits are On Sale - Today Only!

If you've ever thought about getting monthly craft kits in the mail
then you're going to love this:
Stampin'UP!'s monthly craft kits are on sale.

Normally $20 a month, when you sign up today you'll
get the first month for only $5

This is a total no-brainer. Why?
  • because the May kit is super cute and useful: 4 sturdy gift bags and 6 cards.  The two sentiments are "Happy Birthday" and "Celebrate" (which is perfect for graduations)
  • because there's no obligation: you can quit the subscription any time
  • and because $5 is a super starter price to get that first kit as a trial to see how you like it.

Tell your friends about this amazing $5 Kit.
You can subscribe together and plan a group craft night.

The kits are complete with everything you need except adhesive to make some really cute projects. You'll get instructions and photos of the finished project. You can make it as shown or add your own creative touches. I always have extra parts left over that I can use on other projects.

The kits even include their own stamps and cute little 1" ink pads.
Its a great, inexpensive way to slowly build up a supply of all-purpose stamps and ink pads.

If you need a little convincing then check out this gallery of past month's kits.
Cute right? and tons of alternate ideas for how to use the supplies in the kits.

Are you ready to try it? Sign-up here

Build a Bouquet Embossed Flower

I got this card from Mary Goonan

This card is a perfect example of how a simple design can be stunning. Of course its helped by the very pretty flower stamp and the gorgeous font used on the sentiment. Both the flower and the sentiment are from a set called Build a Bouquet. The stamps in this set are intended for use with the Build a Bouquet Project Kit, but I think they look beautiful used by themselves.

Mary decorated the card with a strip of Designer Paper printed with leaves. Isn't this pattern perfect for this card?  A pretty strip of leaves running up the side of the card.  The pattern Mary chose is from the Painted Blooms Paper Pack.  I love how these papers come printed on both sides. it gives you so many different designs to choose from.  And with 2 pages of each design in the package, you get lots of the pattern to play with too.

FYI: This project uses a couple of "soon to retire" products. The Painted Blooms Designer Paper used on this project and the Build a Bouquet stamp set are both from the Occasions catalog which expires the end of this month. Since we're in the last month of the catalog, this paper is now "available only while supplies last".

In fact, both the Annual Catalog and the Occasions catalog are expiring the end of May. We know there's going to be some amazing, wonderful new stuff coming - but we also want to make sure we have everything from the retiring catalog before its gone for good.  Have you see the catalogs?

Stamps are guaranteed to be available through May 26th.

Everything else is available only while supplies last

In my experience I suggest checking the list sooner rather than later
and if there's something there you want, I'd get it now before its gone
and the good news is - more than half the stuff is also on sale
anywhere from 15% up to 50%

Sponged and Embossed Vellum Butterfly

Its finally spring here in southern Wisconsin, no butterflies yet, but my hostas and daffodils are several inches tall already. Everything is just green right now, but in anticipation of some colorful flowers to come I made this butterfly card.

Card made with Stampin'UP!'s Painted Petals and Papillon Potpourri Stamp Sets

It was hard to know what colors to use on this butterfly, there is so much variety in nature. I settled on something that kind of matched the flowers.

s Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set: heat embossed in white and sponged on the back

Here's how I did the butterfly: The butterfly is stamped on Vellum - which is a translucent parchment paper. I stamped the butterfly in White Craft Ink and then heat embossed it with White Embossing powder.  To get the color I sponged Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay on the back side. Adding the color on the back gives greater contrast for the detail on the front. I really love how this turned out.

Well, if you're a fan of Stampin'UP! products you're probably aware that its catalog transition time. Both the Annual Catalog and the Occasions catalog will expire the end of May. We know there's going to be some amazing, wonderful new stuff coming - but we also want to make sure we have everything from the retiring catalog before its gone for good.  Have you see the catalogs?
