I needed a quick, masculine congratulations card for a friend of my husband's who just got a promotion. This one was certainly quick - one stamped image and one punched border laid over a strip of glimmer paper.
The stars were punched with the Confetti Stars Border Punch. It works just like any border punch in that you make your initial punch and then slide the paper over so the holes line up with the printed image on the punch platform.
I intended the blue strip to be mounted over a strip of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and regular tape doesn't really stick well to the glimmer paper. You have to use something stronger like glue dots or Dimensionals. I used Dimensionals. The hexagonal shape of the foam pieces was too big for the strip so I cut them into smaller pieces (photo above).
I don't usually use ribbon on a masculine card, but this is just Silver Baker's Twine so not really ribbony, right? Plus the silver thread counts as metal which adds a masculine flavor. So I figured it would work.
The "congratulations" sentiment is from a set called Bravo. The vertical sentiment really filled up the space nicely. By the way, Bravo is a photopolymer set. If you haven't tried photopolymer yet you're in for a very nice surprise. You're going to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how well they stick to the blocks and the how easy it is to position them on the project. These stamps are not just clear mount, they are actually clear! You can see through them. Check out the other stamps you can get as photopolymer here.
