Bloomin' Bouquet - New Project Kit

Stampin'UP! has just released a new kit: Bloomin Bouquet
Check it out below
Mother's Day. Teacher appreciation. Just because.
Say thank you with this no-maintenance bouquet. There's no watering, no weeding-just enjoying. This easy-to-assemble kit comes complete with the petals, stems, and buttons to create the flowers, as well as four different tags to make this the perfect gift for any occasion. All you need is some paper, ribbon or a vase to add the finishing touches to the bouquet.

As if that weren't enough, the kit contains a "baker's dozen"! This means you can create and give (or keep) a dozen flowers, and have a bonus flower left over to pass along to someone new! Give it to someone you wouldn't normally think of: a teller at the bank, a grocery store clerk, or the librarian at your local library. Anyone you encounter on your way that you'd like to give a little "thank you" to-and introduce them to Stampin' Up!

Watch this video to see how SUPER easy they are to make
  • Item 134542
  • $12.95
  • Available starting April 29, while supplies last.

How to make a Quick Digital Thank-You Card

Card made with Stampin'UP!'s software: My Digital Studio
I am loving My Digital Studio  - that's the name of Stampin'UP!'s digital stamping program:  My Digital Studio.

Have you ever wondered what's involved with making digital cards and scrapbook pages?
Here are the steps to make this card.
    1. Choose your stamps: a banner, a flower and a border, and the words
    2. Color the stamps: Island Indigo and Calypso Coral
    3. Add a "punch" (the long rectangle shape under the bottom border
    4. Re-size and Layer the images
    5. Print
Yes, there are a few extra tricks on this project, but really, its almost as easy as the 5 steps above.

OK, you ask skeptically, what tricks?
Card made with Stampin'UP!'s software: My Digital StudioNotice the black "shadow" effect on the words?  That's because the words are on there twice, the coral words layered on top and slightly offset from the same words in black.  Nice effect, don't you think?

I printed this on my computer at home and it looks just fine for what I need.

Digital cards are great especially when you are mass-producing.  If you have multiple cards that will all have the same inside message its definitely the way to go.

And the program even lets you
add artwork to the inside of the card.

Are you still reading?  That must mean you are slightly interested in how this all works.  If so, take a look at this screen shot from when I made the project.

This just helps you get your bearings - its useful to know how the work space is divided.
    • On the left is where you can access your photos.
    • The center is the workspace.
    • Below it is a quick set of thumbnails showing all the pages of your project. You can switch from page to page here.
    • On the right are all the control panels when working with the different elements (stamps, photos, text boxes, designer papers etc) Each control panel expands when you are working with that type of element.

As with any software, the more you use it the better you get.  And really, this is pretty easy.  And easy on your pocket book too. The software now costs only $20 for the full program.
    • If you get the download (versus the CD) there is NO SHIPPING (and NO WAITING!)
    • You can try it for 30-days for FREE before you buy,
but really, for only $20 there's no reason not to get My Digital Studio.

How to Make Elegant Elements of Style

Water color card made with Stampin'UP! set: Elements of StyleWant to know how to make an already gorgeous card really elegant - include some embossing and some sparkle.

One thing that adds to the elegance of this card is the classic colors combination:  Red, White and black with a touch of green.

Several features give this card extra pizzazz:
    • The image was heat embossed in black
    • the flowers sparkle with Iridescent Ice embossing poweder
    • The brads add a subtle shine at the bottom

The flowers are water colored which explains the slight variation in intensity of color and the fact that the colors are lighter than the red paper background.  These flowers are part of a stamp set called Elements of Style.  Its the same stamp set I used on these coasters.

Helpful Hint:  Have you noticed unwanted black speckles when you heat emboss with black embossing powder?  I avoid that by stamping in black ink and using clear embossing powder.

By the way, I really like Stampin'UP!'s new heat gun.  Even if you already have a heat gun you might be interested in this one. It has 2 heat settings.  Use the low setting to dry projects and the high setting to heat emboss.  AND (and this is amazing to me) you can use this gun to heat emboss on clear plastic acetate sheets (like transparency sheets).  Wow.

You can get all the supplies to make this elegant project from my on-line store.
Or click on an image below. And be sure to check out my Customer Rewards Program.

    the April Paper Pumpkin Kit

Pumpkins?? Say what?  Are you curious about the name?  The kits don't actually make pumpkins! The idea is a take-off on the concept of Cinderella.

The fairy godmother turned a plain pumpkin into a marvelous carriage.  The kit is your fairy godmother and makes it easy for you to turn the contents into something marvelous.

My April box just arrived today

     I can't wait to play

    Seriously!

This months kit has  stickers and twine and big silver buttons and designer papers. And 2 new little stamps and a Cherry Cobbler Ink spot.

Are you subscribed yet?  If you're like me you'll love the convenience and the challenge of using the extra supplies, and the fun of waiting.
    1. I just love the fact that the kit has everything you need to complete the projects (you will need your own adhesive)
    2. And its always a surprise - so the anticipation is part of the fun.  You never know what you'll get.
    3. I also love the challenge of changing up the designs a little bit.
    4. And I love that I'm building up a supply of little ink spots.  They're so much easier to transport when I do workshops.
And then there's the Extras!  Each month we will have a few extras including the ink spot and any stamps that were part of the kit. If you subscribe to the kit through me you'll get emails from me with ideas for additional ways to use the products in the kit.  And feel free to post your own ideas on my Facebook Page.
