Ears to You - Easter Card Details

Yesterday's post showed this card but without many details.  So here are a few tips and tricks for making it.

I wanted everything to really pop off the page, so the bunnies and the sentiment are heat embossed - in Chocolate Chip.  And no, Stampin'UP! does not carry brown embossing powder, but the new foam ink pads are so super juicy that they work just fine for embossing.  So they are embossed with Chocolate Chip ink and Clear embossing powder.

The bonus to embossing is that the bunnnies are shiney and look like Chocolate bunnies.

The flowers were punched with the Boho Blossom punch.  This set of colors: Pretty in Pink, Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple looks amazing on the Ruffled Lucky Limeade Ribbon. Part of the look is the color contrast but the ruffles on the ribbon add to the look of foliage.

And here is a TIP: Its really hard to push a brad through ribbon.  So lay your project down on a piercing mat and poke a hole.  It will go through the ribbon but may not make an obvious hole because the fibers just come back together.  DON'T LIFT THE PROJECT. Leave it on the mat and poke the brad through while its on the mat.  The hole in the mat below your paper will be a guide to stabilize the brad legs as you push them through.
