Winners in the Product Challenge Contest

Our local demo group meets 3 times a year - each time there is a new catalog. Our main reason for gathering is to get ideas for sharing the new product.  We have lots of fun activities and one of them is a contest using the parts from our nametags from the previous meeting.  I thought you might like to see the entries.

First, here are the parts we had to work with from our June event:

The product challenges are a fun way to stretch yourself creatively. Usually when I make a card its because I want to play with a stamp set or some dies or because I need something for a class or for an occasion to send.  I enjoy the challenge of coming up with a way to use a few small parts of something.

Product Challenge Contest

I love our big local demonstrator meetings! I'm part of a pretty active group of local demos who meet regularly to share info about new product.  One of my favorite parts of the meeting is the displays and contests.

 
Everyone loves a challenge, right? Our meetings always have a contest with our trade cards.  In fact the contest has evolved from a simple card contest to include multiple categories: cards, scrapbook page, 3x3 gift card, punch art and 3D item.

At our January meeting we added a new category: a product challenge made using the parts from our nametags.  Here's the name tag from our Fall 2015 meeting. It used Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and either a diecut penguin or snowman from the Snow Friends bundle.  Click here to see a card I made with my penguin.

This was the Poster for the contest display area.

My entry was the place card. Actually I made 34 of them for a family holiday get-together. 

The hat was diecut from Black Glimmer paper which was available in the fall catalog and is now retired.  I spread a line of Silver Glitter Glue for the hat band and colored one of our Rhinestones with a red Sharpie marker (TM).

Cute right?  Max and Rachel both did a really nice job.  

And by the way, Rachel's card was the winner.

I can't wait to see what people come up with for the June Meeting product challenge. Now - since this contest category was new we had just a few participating. But we had 30 people at the meeting, and the prize was pretty awesome. So I'm betting there will be a lot more participation 2nd time around.
