Peaceful Pines Thinlit Dies

Isn't this card interesting? Look at the texture on the tree.  It really makes you look twice doesn't it? and of course that's what we all want when we give a card. We want people to look at it twice and be impressed.

Christmas Card made with Stampin'UP!'s Perfect Pines Thinlit Dies

Stampin'UP!'s Perfect Pines Thinlit DiesThis card was made by my friend Rachel Durtschi. She created this amazing tree using a die set called Perfect Pines. The picture to the right shows all the dies that come in the set.

What a great idea - 3 different size trees and lots of parts to make lights, ornaments and to add the texture of the lifted branches you see on Rachel's card above.

FYI: This die set does have a matching Stamp Set called Peaceful Pines. Stampin'UP! lets you save money by bundling product if you decided to get both the dies and the stamps.

To use the framelits you'd run your paper through the first time using the tree shape and cut out the tree.  Then run the tree shaped paper through a 2nd time with the piece that creates the texture.

Gift Box made with Stampin'UP!'s Perfect Pines Thinlit DiesHere's another project using these tree framelits. This gift box features a tree shaped window.  The paper for the box was die cut using the Square Pillow Box die. To make the window you'd need to cut the tree shape before folding the box together.

You could leave the window open, or cover it with a piece of acetate or vellum like on this project.

The box goes together very quickly and makes a sweet little gift. It looks great on a co-worker's desk, or use it to deliver neighbor holiday gifts.

The Perfect Pines set of tree thinlit dies is a great way
to add some dimension and added interest to your winter projects.

How to Evenly Space Stamped Letters

This winter card uses a Snowman as the "O" in the word Frosty. And today I have a tip to share on how to place the letters evenly when you stamp something like this - a word using individual letter stamps.

Frosty the Snowman Card made with Stampin'UP! Snow Place and Layered Letters Stamp Sets

This series of photos shows the steps
1. place the letters and the die cut first
2. THEN put the block on the letters so they're all mounted together
3. Leave the die cut image in place for reference while you ink and stamp the letters

Pumpkin Telescope Card

Do you know what a telescope card is?  Its one of those little engineering feats that gets you an incredulous "COOL!" when you give the card.  It requires 3 or 4 successively smaller sized cut out matching shapes.  I've used circles for this Pumpkin Telescope Card.

It you're thinking he doesn't look very impressive,
then check out what happens when you pull up on the stem.

Cool! Right?
