Easy Gift Bag for an Office Treat or Table Favor

With Christmas just around the corner, this post is all about Holiday gift packaging.
I fact, today's post is part of a Blog Hop with lots of packaging ideas from

If you're like me you may have a small stash of pretty papers tucked away somewhere.
Why not use them to make cute little candy gift bags?

This sweet little bag is super easy to make from a 6" x 4.5" piece of paper.

The bag's small size is perfect for leaving a little gift on a co-worker's desk.
Hint: it easily fits 3 nuggets.

Or use it as a table favor by each place on your holiday table.

This bag is super easy to make (click the image to see it larger, or right click to download)

• Cut a sheet of paper to a 6" x 4-1/2" size
• Score long ways at 1-1/4" from each long side
• Score side-ways at 1/2",  2-3/8", 3-5/8",  and 5-1/2" 
• Cut each of the sideways score marks to meet the long score line
  yellow on the image to the right
• If you want a ribbon handle (like on  my sample) punch holes before folding
• Fold and glue according to the images below

Embellished Designer Paper

Have you ever made a card and then worried that its too simple?  

Sometimes simple is stunning! 

Check out this card made by my friend Deb Geier.

The focal point of Deb's card is a piece of beautiful flowered paper, DSP, framed in a coordinating color of green.  Such a simple and beautiful way to let the real focus of the card be the sentiment.

and don't overlook the embellishments Deb used . . .

A few self-stick rhinestones on the printed paper and some additional color coordinated faceted gems on the card face.  Put it all together and you get one simple yet elegant creation.  Thanks Deb.

Simple Wedding Card - with Love Blossoms DSP

 Here's a very simple wedding card that features 4 panels of designer paper.
This paper is from the Love Blossom Designer Stack.
The pale pink (Blushing Bride) papers are perfect for a wedding, don't you think?

I was very careful to cut the paper so the pattern with the larger hearts would be centered.
But with a different pattern, this lay-out would be great for using up small scraps of DSP.

The two papers on this card are from the Love Blossom Stack.  Stampin'UP!'s stacks give you 4 each of 12 double-sided 6x6 sheets. 24 Designs total!  Wow!  I love using these stacks because its so easy to find coordinating papers for projects like this. 

Did you ever think to color on Designer Paper?  I used a marker to color the small hearts.

Easter Chick In a Broken Egg Shell

Here's a cute little chick popping out to say "Hello", such a sweet faced little guy.

This little chick is just newly hatched from his shell.  The shell was quick to make, I punched a large oval and hand-cut a zig zag pattern to cut it into 2 pieces.

Next week I have another card to share featuring this chick. Next week's card is one we're doing in a class this weekend and I don't want to spoil the surprise by posting it early.

This card was made as a way to show how you can incorporate Designer papers into the card design.  See the rhinestones on the centers of the corner flowers?  They're a bit subtle because the Designer Paper is so busy.  But that's why I used them.  I wanted to give the eye something to focus on among all that busyness.

The cute little chick is from one of the 2016 Sale-a-Bration Stamp Sets; called Honeycomb Happiness.  Here's another card featuring both the chick and the Honeycomb Embellishments.  This one was made by my friend Norma Artman.
  

See the shape of the images in the set in the product chart below? The round shape of the chick, the ice cream cone and the balloon were designed to work with Stampin'UP!'s paper Honeycomb Embellishments  that Norma used on her balloon.
