Tips for Easy Alignment when Panel Stamping

Today's card has a single image stamped across several sheets of paper.
I call this a panel card.
Card made with Stampin'UP!'s Breathtaking Bouquet stamp with the image perfectly lined up across 4 card pieces

The issue is: how to get the image perfectly aligned across the panels
. . . since each piece seems to be stamped in a different color ink

The trick on the ink color is to stamp in Versamark.
Versamark is a watercolor ink that leaves a tone-on tone image.
For added highlight I heat embossed using clear embossing powder

The trick to getting the images aligned
was to first adhere all four smaller squares
to a single back piece and stamp it once.
