Poinsettia Joy Word Card

Over the years I've collected quite a few different holiday sentiment sets with a wide variety of phrases to express good wishes for the season. But perhaps you'll agree with me that sometimes a single word is all  you need. In the end, the Christmas holiday is really a celebration of "joy".

Isn't this card eye-catching? It helps that there's some strong contrast of intense color against the largely white card and the sparkle of gold thread in the ribbon adds a touch of elegance. I'll post a full list of color names and product used at the end of the post.

Spelling out short words on a card is a fun idea. The die set I used is called Hand-Lettered Prose and I really like the font, its such a pretty script.

Another fun idea is to replace one of the letters with an image.  In this case I used die cut poinsettias in place of the "o".

There are lots and lots of short words that would make a wonderful card:
mom, dad, love, baby, girl, boy, happy, grad, home, cat, dog, car, fish,
What occasions do you have coming up?

I think every stamper should have a good alphabet set of dies.  If you like scripty fonts then definitely check out the Hand-Lettered Prose dies.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope I've inspired you to play with making some word cards and to try replacing one of the letters with an image. You'll find specific product links for this project below, or just take some time to browse the Stampin'UP! store.
