This card is really beautiful with that pale blue peeking out from behind the glistening snowflake. The snowflake is diecut from white glimmer paper and inlaid in the black. I love how this turned out. The photo does not do it justice.
The trick to getting this wow effect is
1. diecut a hole in the black cardstock.
2. Back it with the pale blue (Pool Party) cardstock
3. Inlay the Diecut Snowflake in the hole.
The contrast is helped by the Glimmer Paper and the fact that the sentiment is heat embossed. This card really "pops"!
The large snowflake die was perfect for this project. However, that snowflake is part of a November only sale so depending on when you read this post it may no longer be available.
I wanted to see how well this concept would work with smaller snowflakes so this last sample was made using the Seasonal Layers Thinlits: die cut from white paper and layered over silver glimmer paper.
1) cut 3 holes in the front piece . . .
2) backed it with silver glimmer paper . . .
3) Diecut the shape from white paper and inlay
