Tri-Fold Card from an Embossing Folder

Are you looking for a unique design idea for a card?  Try this: use an embossing folder to create the design and texture for a tri-fold card.

Because its a tri-fold card the paper is larger than normal - but you can still make this from a regular 8-1/2 x 11" piece of cardstock. Cut the card vertically into a piece that is 11" x 5-1/2" and score at 4-1/4", and 8-1/2" from one end.

Emboss each end separately for the tri-fold card. You'll have an embossed image on the front (left) flap and a debossed image on the inside (right) flap.   Then use a scissors to cut along the edges of the design.

The embossing was done with Stampin'UP!'s soon to be retired Manhattan Flower Embossing folder. This is one I'm really sad to see go.   I really like the classic look you get with this folder.  Here are a few of my favorites.

This one used the lines for a
debossed sponge resist

The third card was embossed on shimmer paper and the image was cut out and mounted on a dark background.

The Manhattan Flower embossing folder is an exclusive Stampin'UP! design.  But like I said earlier - it is retiring the end of this monthOrder your's today before they're gone
