Lovely Monogram

My daughter's wedding is scheduled for the end of the summer so we've been playing with some designs. I created the card shown to the right as a possible thank-you note. I've wanted to make a monogram card for a long time and finally had a reason to try one. Then I ended up using it with several groups in March and April, so some of you may have actually made this card.

The So Saffron paper is dry embossed using the Vintage Wall Paper embossing folder and the Big Shot. We also sponged some saffron ink on the raised part of the image to help define it further. A piece of 1/4" black grosgrain ribbon helps hide the line between the 2 pieces of paper.

The initial is stamped from a set called Lovely Letters Alphabet. I love how elegant this set is. Nothing against all the plain alphabets or the ones that look like handwriting, but I really like the elegance of this set. We embossed the letter in black. helpful hint: when embossing in black I always use Black Craft Ink and Clear Embossing powder. That way I avoid all the stray black specks left behind by the black embossing powder. The letter was punched out with a 1 1/4" punch and layered on a saffron 1 3/8" circle which is then layered on a black scallop circle. Due to the thickness of the ribbon we raised the initial up using Stampin Dimensionals. This card is really beautiful. It went together so quickly that I'm considering making a whole set as a gift for a friend.
