Breathtaking Bouquet in Full Color

Background Stamping Series Post #8:  Coloring the image

If you've been following the series so far, I've been focusing on the
Breathtaking Bouquet background stamp
and the many, many ways you can use it to create cards.

Unlike yesterday's post, which showed 2 cards with
subtle coloring on the central flowers
Today's post is in full color.

Hello Card made with Stampin'UP!'s Breathtaking Bouquet background stamp and colored with Stampin'Blends (Alcohol Markers)

Are you someone who likes to color?
If so, Breathtaking Bouquet is the perfect background stamp for you.

This line drawing offers lots of opportunity for subtle shading
In the photo above I even colored in the background

It was hard to decide where to put the sentiment
so as to not cover any of the gorgeous flowers.

In the end I settled for a corner of the image.
If you're a fan of big fat sentiments then you'll love this stamp set
it is seriously the best!
no, really - that is the name of the stamp set

Breathtaking Bouquet Comparision of Coloring with Markers versus a Sponge

Background Stamping Series Post #7:  Coloring the image

What is your "go-to" tool for coloring a large area? Markers or sponging?
I have two cards today for an easy comparison,
both made with Stampin'UP!'s Breathtaking Bouquet background stamp.

This first card was colored with markers

Sympathy Card made with Stampin'UP!'s Breathtaking Bouquet background stamp and colored with alcohol markers, Stampin' Blends

I used Stampin' Blends, which are alcohol markers
I really like how smoothly they apply to colored cardstock

The color on thie second card was applied with a sponge
note: an art sponge, NOT a kitchen sponge

Sympathy Card made with Stampin'UP!'s Breathtaking Bouquet background stamp and colored by sponging

you get a much more diffuse look when you sponge on the color.

Both tools give a great  result
It just depends on the artistic look you're going for
Here is one more side-by-side comparison
