Nice Cuppa: a Beautiful Way to Celebrate Mom

I'm getting an early start on Mother's Day with this card. I didn't actually plan to be done so early, but I was playing with the Cups and Kettles dies and the Nice Cuppa stamp set and the Timeless Textures Stamp Set (love those coffee ring stains!) and this card just sort of came together.

This card has a lot on it - hey, its for Mom, right?!
Nothing's too good for Mom on Mother's Day.

Most of the background is stamped in Crumb Cake Ink, but a few of the splotches are gold embossed (gotta have sparkle!) and for added pretties I added a few random pearls.

Do you like how shiny the cup is?  And see how the letters are raised?
*First stamp the words in White Craft Ink and heat emboss with white embossing powder
*Then cover the whole cup with Versamark Ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder
Looks just like a ceramic mug right?

This is the  list of the papers and Inks I used  - keep reading to see info on the stamps

Nice Cuppa - & - Timeless Textures

When I saw these two stamp sets in the Spring Occasions catalog I knew right away this was "must have". for me.  Just think what you can do with these dies. Invitations and Thank-You's.

And look how versatile the die set is: it has a coffee cup and a mug and even has silverware.

Here's another project I did with these dies - I helped run an event where we were ordering in lunch and people had to make their lunch choices.  We put this sign on the table to identify where people should be placing their lunch orders.

Tea Bag Holder using Cups and Kettle Framelit Dies

This project will let your friend make a "Nice Cuppa" tea.
Whether you're gifting a teabag to someone who is sick, or just to share a fun new tea flavor,
this is a pretty way to share.

Its also a very a easy project:
  • the card is a half-sheet of paper cut longways: 4-1/4" x 11"
  • Score at 3.5" and 7.5" from one end
  • Score the last section as shown below, discard the upper right triangle
  • Fold along all the score lines.
  • Cut a white insert 4"x3.25" and adhere to the middle inside panel
  • Fold the right triangular flap in and glue along the bottom edge to make the pocket
  • Cut a length of ribbon about 16" long and adhere to the outsides of the project
(under what will be the front decoration)
  • Decorate the front as desired

FYI: the lemon is from the coordinating stamp set called Nice Cuppa.  Hard to see in this photo but I stamped it on yellow paper and then brushed over it with a Wink of Stella clear pen. Its really sparkly and glistens just like a fresh lemon, you can almost smell the lemony freshness!  I'm feeling the urge to go brew a cup as I write this.

The teacup is from a set  of dies called Cups and Kettle Framelits Dies, which of course was just perfect for this project.  Its available in the 2016 Occasions Catalog.

If you like to collect unusual dies then this is definitely one to add to your collection.  Just look at everything that comes in that die set:  silverware, a tea kettle and tea cup AND a mug. Plus various shapes to use to decorate the crockery.  And that "heart" embellishment you see on the teapot, can also be steam like on this project.

What uses can you see for this set?  things like invitations, placecards, table decorations . . .
If you do like to collect unusual dies then don't wait too long on this one.  We never know which mini-catalog items will carryover to the next catalog - but in my experience the unusual ones tend to be available only for that catalog. And this catalog expires the end of May.

If you like the idea of a teabag holder check out this other tea bag card from few years ago.
And if you want any of the product used on this tea bag holder check the product chart below.
