Itty Bitty Accents Heart Fits the Happy Hearts Folder

Are you looking for a way to incorporate lots of hearts into a Valentine or Wedding Card?  Did you know the Heart punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Pack fits exactly in the heart shape from the Happy Hearts Embossing Folder. Yay! Whoohoo! So cool for Weddings, Anniversaries and Valentines.

Here's a closer look - perfect shape and size right?

Stampin'UP! actually does a great job coordinating product. The thing that first brought me to Stampin'UP! was all the color coordinated product, its really important to me to have all my colored product match: inks, paper, buttons, ribbon . . .  See how the ribbon below  is a perfect match for the paper color

This photo shows another way Stampin'UP! coordinates product. The words from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp set are perfectly sized to fit in the Word Window Punch. And with 24 different sentiments to choose from this set can work for just about any occasion you need.

Color Coordinated . . . Size Coordinated . . . Shape Coordinated . . .
My "heart is happy" now with one more reason to love how Stampin'UP! coordinates product
the Itty Bitty Accents Punches and Happy Heart embossing folder combo,

Here's a list of all the product used on this card:

Jolly Christmas Card with Boughs and Berries Embossed Edges

Today I'm sharing a card made by my friend Sue Adams.  I'm so lucky to be part of a demo group that does regular trades. I love trading . . .  its so much fun to see other people's projects.

Sue made this card on Night of Navy cardstock.  Sue used the sentiment from the Jolly Christmas Stamp set and what with the cardstock being so dark she decided to silver emboss the words. She also added a rhinestone to each of the snowflakes. Wow! it really shines, its so pretty.

To frame the sentiment, Sue used the Boughs and Berries embossing folder.  But again, with the dark cardstock she felt like the texture was too subtle. So - brilliant idea - she sponged with White Craft ink.  Again WOW!  Now it looks like its covered in snow.

2 Ways to use the Brick Wall Embossing folder

There are 2 ways to use an embossing folder.  An embossing folder distresses the paper and most people make their projects with the distressed side up, but many images look good with the distressed side facing down.  We even have a word for it:  debossing (versus embossing)

2 ways to use Stampin'UP!'s new Brick Wall embossing folder

You can get 2 different looks with Stampin'UP!'s new Brick Wall embossing folder.  Raised lines up and it looks like mortar spilling from between the bricks.  Embossed lines down and it looks like the mason smoothed the mortar into the groove between the bricks.  Either way looks great.

And here's the cool thing about Stampin'UP!'s Brick Wall embossing folder,  this new folder is 6"x6" - which means you can make either a horizontal or a vertical card with it.

By the way, this is one of the cards we're doing this month.  If you're local to the Madison/Dane County area then be sure to check out my class schedule.

Heartfelt Sympathy card

The beautiful sentiment image on this card is from a set called Heartfelt Sympathy.
The muted tones of Sahara Sand ink speak to the quiet, heartfelt message the card carries.

Sympathy card made with Stampin'UP!'s Heartfelt Sympathy stamp set

Butterflies are a symbol often used on a sympathy card
and I love that Stampin'UP! has 2 size butterfly punches that are made for layering.
If you look closely at the larger butterfly ( made with the Elegant Butterfly Punch
you'll see a smaller one in Vellum on top (made with the Bitty Butterfly punch ).

I added a little bling to the sentiment, just  2 rhinestones to dress it up a little.

Playing with Lay-outs - This Versatile Lay-out Makes 2 Totally Different Cards

Here are 2 cards, both with the same lay-out, yet they look totally different.

Card made with Stampin'UP!'s Open Sea Stamp Set Card made with Stampin'UP!'s Stippled Blossom Stamp Set
stamp set:  Open Sea                                                      stamp set:  Stippled Blossoms

Stampin'UP!'s Open Sea Stamp Set                       Stampin'UP!'s Stippled Blossom Stamp Set

Both cards use the Chevron Embossing folder on the bottom half of the card front. I love texture embossing, its a great way to add some depth and dimension to a project. You can also add texture with ribbon or twine, like the Linen Thread on these 2 cards.

The sentiments on the 2 cards are both from a set called Teeny Tiny Wishes.  What a great set! 24 different sentiments to choose from and they all fit in the Word Window punch (the white piece on these cards). Then to make it look pretty I layered the sentiment on a colored piece that was created with the Modern Label punchFYI: The Modern Label punch is on the retirement list - boy am I going to miss that one. I use that punch a lot!

Speaking of retiring, the flower stamp set is on the retirement list too. Its a 2-step stamp set called Stippled Blossoms. If you look close you can see the 2 images stamped to make the flower: The solid lighter body of the flower and the darker detail on the petals.

For Stampin'UP! fans the catalog transition time is always exciting. We know there's going to be some amazing, wonderful new stuff coming - but we also want to make sure we have everything from the retiring catalog before its gone for good.

Stamps are guaranteed to be available through May 26th.

Everything else is available only while supplies last

In my experience I suggest checking the list sooner rather than later
and if there's something there you want, I'd get it now before its gone
and the good news is - more than half the stuff is also on sale
anywhere from 15% up to 50%
