2 Ways to use the Brick Wall Embossing folder

There are 2 ways to use an embossing folder.  An embossing folder distresses the paper and most people make their projects with the distressed side up, but many images look good with the distressed side facing down.  We even have a word for it:  debossing (versus embossing)

2 ways to use Stampin'UP!'s new Brick Wall embossing folder

You can get 2 different looks with Stampin'UP!'s new Brick Wall embossing folder.  Raised lines up and it looks like mortar spilling from between the bricks.  Embossed lines down and it looks like the mason smoothed the mortar into the groove between the bricks.  Either way looks great.

And here's the cool thing about Stampin'UP!'s Brick Wall embossing folder,  this new folder is 6"x6" - which means you can make either a horizontal or a vertical card with it.

By the way, this is one of the cards we're doing this month.  If you're local to the Madison/Dane County area then be sure to check out my class schedule.

Heartfelt Sympathy card

The beautiful sentiment image on this card is from a set called Heartfelt Sympathy.
The muted tones of Sahara Sand ink speak to the quiet, heartfelt message the card carries.

Sympathy card made with Stampin'UP!'s Heartfelt Sympathy stamp set

Butterflies are a symbol often used on a sympathy card
and I love that Stampin'UP! has 2 size butterfly punches that are made for layering.
If you look closely at the larger butterfly ( made with the Elegant Butterfly Punch
you'll see a smaller one in Vellum on top (made with the Bitty Butterfly punch ).

I added a little bling to the sentiment, just  2 rhinestones to dress it up a little.

This is one of the cards we're doing at the Cards with Katie events this month, so if you stamp with us you'll get to make this card. Thanks for stopping by and if you're local to the Madison/Dane County area then be sure to check out my class schedule.

Snowman made with Sprinkles of Life Stamp Set

What do you think of this cutie? A sweet little snowman with his bird friend.

Snowman Card made with Stampin'UP!'s Sprinkles of Life stamp set and Tree Builder punch

I know its only mid-July but I just couldn't help myself.  I've been playing with the new Sprinkles of Life Stamp set and matching Tree Builder Punch.  They are SO VERSATILE! I can't believe all the things you can do with this combo.

See what I mean?

His hat is the cone turned upside down.
His arms were made with the tree punch
and the punch also makes
that  tiny sweet little bird.

See the snowflakes?  They're really the flower stamp!

What do you think of the piles of snow on the bottom?
I tried to make it look like he's surrounded by snow.
The stamp is really supposed to be ice cream (for the cone) or frosting on a cupcake. But it makes a great snowpile too.

Guess what, the punch cuts this shape, yay!

I'm loving this so much that I have a class devoted just to this combination.
