Celebrate with Cake

Celebrate with cake and a candle! Celebrations take many shapes and forms, but most that I've been to involve cake. So this card is perfect for a celebration.

Birthday card made with Stampin'UP!'s One Tag Fits All stamp set

Banner Tag Garland The banner in the corner adds a festive touch . . . made with the Banner Punch and the tiny flower from the Boho Blossom Punch, and decorated with a self-stick Rhinestone.

The Fancy Fan embossing folder adds a nice texture that looks a little like cake frosting.

To create the look of a garland I adhered a short piece of Linen Thread to the back of the white piece. Then I attached the banners with Glue Dots.  The Glue Dots are perfect for small pieces like these banners and also help the Linen Thread keep its curved shape.

The bright colors on this project also add to the festive feeling: Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise.

With a touch of gold glitter glue for the candle flame.

The Tag was made with the Note Tag Punch which is in the current Holiday Catalog and will be a carry over item in the upcoming Occasions catalog. And the cake image is from a new set that will be available in the Occasions Catalog.

Have you received your Occasions Catalog yet? Demonstrators just got theirs in the mail. If you are one of my catalog customers you should be getting your Occasions catalog in the mail soon. If  you are not a customer and would like one please contact me.  I'd be happy to mail you a copy. There's some really nice stuff coming in this next catalog and with Sale-a-bration coming in January its the perfect time to invest in your hobby.

Punch Art Snowman Makes a Cute Winter Card

Looking for ideas for a cute winter card? Here's an easy Punch Art Snowman.
Punch Art Snowman winter card with using Northern Flurry Embossing Folder for a textured snowflake background
This card was made by my friend and fellow demonstrator Sue Adams
to create the textured snowflakes in the background.

Punch Art Hat for the snowman
Sue punched his cute curvy top hat using the end of the Decorative Label punch - don't you just love the scallop corners?

The perfectly curved brim of the hat is the Large Oval punch. See how the 3 pieces are layered? Punch Art is such a quick easy way to make a really cute focal point on a card.

For the perfect winter decoration use a Snowflake Sequin from the Frosted Sequins pack.

Sue used Washi Tape for the Scarf . . . now that's just brilliant. There are lots of colors and patterns to choose from and Washi Tape is so easy, just tear it off and stick it on your project.

Card to Announce a New Home

Card made with the Holiday Home Stamps and Framelits.
This card with its happy little heart, all snuggled into a pristine snowbank was made for a friend who is moving away. In fact, I made her a whole set of cards so she has something to use to announce her new address.
Cards made with the Holiday Home Stamps and Framelits.

All 4 stamps: the sentiment, the heart, the snow and the house
are from a set called Holiday Home.

There's actually a lot you can do with this set. Holiday Home is a good name for the set because of the imagery for Halloween and Christmas. But there are so many other situations where a house image is useful. I can think of a ton of cute projects for this set that have nothing to do with the holidays.

# 135095  at $15.95 for the stamp set: Holiday Home
                                       # 135857  at $21.95 for the Framelits
Bundle and Save
only $31.95 for both the stamps and the Framelits, item # 137631
also available in both French and Spanish

I gave these cards as a gift so of course they needed a cute package.

Package of cards made with the Holiday Home Stamps and Framelits.

Stampin'UP! also sells the cellophane bags. The cellophane bags are 6x8 and perfect for bundling a set of cards as a gift. The bags come 50 to a package for only $4.95. Are you someone who likes to give packages of hand-made cards? A bundle of All Occasion Greeting Cards makes a great Holiday Gift and these Cellophane Bags can be embellished to make a really pretty package.

Here's a close-up of the packaging. The tag greeting is from a set called Really Good Greetings. The cotton ribbon and Snowflake ornament embellishment really dress it up.

COLORS!  Notice the perfect match of inkpaper,  and ribbon.  This is why you should buy all your color product from one company. So everything matches! Thats one of the first things that drew me to Stampin'UP! product - the ability to have my projects color coordinated.

The Blue color on this card is Marina Mist and the paper, ink and ribbon are all part of the regular product line.  However, the snowflake embellishment and the Holiday Home stamps and framelits are part of the Fall Holiday offerings and will only be available through December, as long as supplies last

If you like the House Stamps and Framelits and the snowflake embellishment you should get them now. I confess I often sell my retired product once its no longer current, but this one is a keeper for me. The shape is just so unique and versatile that I'm glad I have it in my collection.

Two More Cards with the Wondrous Wreath Stamps and Framelits

Today's post is 2 more cards made with the Wondrous Wreath Stamp set and Framelits
- although neither one actually has a wreath.
If you took the Wondrous Wreath class last month then you have these samples.

On this first one the wreath has been cut apart to make a garland.
Here's a picture to explain how we cut the wreath

The word "Joy" is part of the Wreath Thinlit set
I think its such a pretty font
and its even more gorgeous when cut from Brushed Metallic Gold paper.

Our Wondrous Wreath class was last month.

For this month's class we'll be using the
Festival of Trees stamp set and punch

class is: Sunday Dec 14 or Monday Dec 15

Don't miss the fun.

Holiday Gift Tags

Next Tuesday evening is our Holiday Gift Tag Class.  I've been playing around with the designs and having a hard time deciding which ones to use in the class.  This is the blue/green set.  I have lots more samples to choose from.

Samples of Holiday Gift Tags

Are you signed up for the Gift Tag Class (Tues Dec 9 at 6:30)?  If so, you'll have to trust me that you're going to love what ever gets chosen. Not signed up yet?  You can reserve your spot HERE at my on-line calendar.

There are so many cute gift tag ideas and they're all so easy to make that it becomes a hard choice which ones to use. But I can't include them all in the class, the problem with choosing which tags to include is an equipment sharing issue because the stamps and ink can be used for only 1 project in a class.

Notice several tags use the Festival of Trees stamps and punch.  I love this set so much that I have a whole class featuring just this set scheduled for mid-December. Again, you can register on-line here.

Tonight was our big demo event where we learned all about the new Occasions Catalog. As you can see from this picture, we find fun ways to occupy our time while waiting in line to be seated.

Boy are you gonna love the new stuff.  I can't wait to put in my pre-order.

If you're like me you'll be thrilled to learn that the Festival of Trees stamps and punch will continue to be available even after the Holiday catalog expires. Yay! This set is just so fun.  And . . . it makes great Gift Tags.

Sign-up for a class and join the fun.

Versatile Washi Tape Background on a Winter Card

Here is another card featuring a snowflake.
This is a beautiful card suitable for any winter occasion.
What I want to point out on this card is the background - its Washi Tape!

Winter card with Stampn'UP!'s Washi Tape

Washi Tape is a quick easy way to add a splash of color to a project.
See what it does for this card that I got from my friend Rachel Durtschi.

Winter card with Stampn'UP!'s Washi Tape

Using Washi Tape for the background has lots of advantages.
  • CONVIENENCE: Its very quick and easy, just tear it off the roll and stick it on the project
  • VERSATILITY: Notice how versatile this design is, it looks good either vertical or horizontal
  • COLORS: and it comes in a huge variety of colors.
Stampn'UP!'s Washi Tape collection fall 2014
If you're like me you're picky about making sure the colors match.  That's why I buy all my colored product (paper, ink, markers, ribbon buttons . . . ) from one company. That way I can ensure that the various parts of my project all work together.  No worries here.  Stampin'UP! has a variety of Washi Tapes sold in coordinating packs.

The coordinating packages of the Washi Tape is so helpful. I don't have to guess which ones work together like what Rachel used on her project.  FYI: the Washi Tape used on this card was the All Is Calm package. item #135844.  You get 5 rolls for just $7.95.

Are you looking for an idea for a Christmas card that's easy to mass produce? This definitely fills the need. A Washi Tape background is quick and easy to create as well as easy to color coordinate.

You can order Washi Tape
