Endless Wishes Purple Snowflakes

Winter is definitely here in Wisconsin, its cold and we have the fire going every day. Unfortunately our beautiful snow cover is melting and the grass is peeking through in many spots.  I'm waiting for more snow so we can get out the cross country skis.  I think today's post was inspired by "endless wishes" for snowflakes in the air.

Winter Card made with Stampin'UP!'s Endless Wishes Stamp Set

Both the snowflakes and the sentiment stamps are part of a set called Endless Wishes

Stampin'UP!'s Endless Wishes Stamp Set

Everyone needs a good snowflake set and its a bonus when it also has some good greetings. Endless Wishes has 3 different snowflakes and a ton of greetings in a very pretty script font.  Doesn't this whimsical line art just make you happy looking at it?

Here's the same card but with a little added bling - a designer snowflake embellishment

Winter Card made with Stampin'UP!'s Endless Wishes Stamp Set

And speaking of embellishments - notice the colored rhinestones. Did you know you can color the rhinestones? Any alcohol based marker will work on the plastic surface of the rhinestones: something like a Sharpie or Stampin'UP!'s Blendabilities markers.

Blendabilities are Stampin'UP!'s Alcohol Markers
I love Stampin'UP!'s color pallette. In fact this is one of the things that has kept me with the company, the fact that I can get all my colors to match: paper, ink, ribbon and bling.  And now Stampin'UP! also carries alcohol markers called Blendabilities.

Do you like to color? The Blendabilities come in 12 sets of 3. Normally each set sells for $11.95, which is a bargain in the world of alcohol markers. Heads Up!: on Monday the markers will be on sale. Save 30% when you buy all 12 color sets.

Beauty of the Season with Crystal Effects

Card made with the Cardinal image from Stampin'UP!'s Beauty of the Season Stamp Set

For those of us here in Wisconsin this is a very familiar scene. We have lots of cardinals on our winter bird feeders. I got this card from Brenda Moen who is part of my team.

Card made with the Cardinal image from Stampin'UP!'s Beauty of the Season Stamp Set

Crystal EffectsBrenda did a great job coloring this card.  I especially like the soft blue sponged around the image to give the impression of sky.

And check out the body of the cardinal! Wow. Brenda used Crystal Effects on the body to give it this special appearance.

The Crystal Effects comes as a thick liquid in a bottle.  The narrow pointed nozzle lets you  squeeze it out onto the project in a pretty well controlled way. Brenda colored the bird red with markers and then squeezed the Crystal Effects over the body of the bird. When it dries it adds shine and dimension to the project.

This cardinal is from a stamp set called Beauty of the Season
which is found in our Holiday Catalog.
The set also has some lovely dainty branches and a nice script font for the sentiments.

You can order Beauty of the Season, and Crystal Effects,
and all of your Stampin'UP! products from my on-line store.

Thanksgiving card made with Stampin'UP!'s For All Things stamp set.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING

I hope you are reading this after a wonderful day spent celebrating family and friends.
Or better yet, that you spent the day totally enjoying family events and are reading this on Friday.

This card was made with the For All Things stamp set from the 2014 Holiday Catalog

Do you like the background stamp? Isn't it great that this set comes with its own little background stamp? Perfect for adding a background to a stamped image.

There's even a background stamp for sentiments. What other sets do you have that would look great with these backgrounds?

Fall card with images from Stampin'UP!'s For All Things Stamp Set and Autumn Accents leaf die

Here is another sample, this one uses the leaf image. Notice the stamps in this set are not intended to give a solid image. Its sort of a watercolor effect. Very fitting for fall imagery.

The leaves on this 2nd card were created with Stampin'UP!'s Autumn Accents Die. This card was featured in an earlier post which you can see here if you want more details.

Wondrous Wreath Baby Card

Baby Card made with Stampin'UP!'s Wondrous Wreath SetWreaths are wonderful things. You can use them to decorate for so many occasions. The same holds true for Stampin'UP!'s Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set and matching Framelits.

Wondrous Wreath is in the Holiday Catalog, where as you might expect there are lots of holiday related samples.

But a wreath is appropriate anywhere that you'd decorate with flowers and leaves, and so too for cards.  Here is a baby card we made in class last weekend. Those soft yellows and greens make it useful for a boy or a girl.

Stampin'UP!'s Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set Here's what the stamp set looks like. Do the images look strange?  If you're like me it might take a minute to figure it out - but the images are intended to overlay.

If you look carefully at the wreath card pictures you'll see that some leaves are darker than others.  You stamp the full wreath 1st and then overstamp with the smaller set of leaves in a darker color.

That combination creates a gorgeous "wow" effect.  Definitely leaves an impression (oops, I didn't intend the leaf pun).

Other details on this baby card:
the 2 green colors are: Pistachio Pudding and Wild Wasabi with Daffodil Yellow
The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Banners Stamp Set

And in case you're wondering NO! I did not fussy cut all those shapes.  Both the Itty Bitty Banners Stamp set and the Wondrous Wreath Stamp set have matching framelits that will die cut the shape for you and the tiny flower is from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

Did I convince you to put this set on your Wish List?  The Wondrous Wreath stamps and framelits are in the Holiday Catalog and will be available through December of 2014. You can order any of these items from my Stampin'UP! store.

Snowman Gift Tag with a Washi Tape Nose

Snowman Gift Tag
Do you make your own gift tags? Here's a cute snowman gift tag that we made at our last demo meeting.  This was a project designed by my friend Norma Artman.

This snowman is super easy! Just use 3 punches to make the body circles and add some pieces of black paper for the hat. Voila!

Norma had a very clever design. The front of the card is printed designer paper and the dots on the paper make it look just like snow. The white of the snowman is what you see through the holes in the designer paper,

Isn't this Designer Paper just perfect! This particular pattern is from a package called Under the Tree (from the Holiday 2014 catalog). Its thicker than normal DSP because its intended for making gift boxes with the new Box Punch Board. This set of papers is printed in color on one side and in a Kraft design on the other. The paper Norma chose is perfect for snow.

Take a close look at his nose - its Washi Tape. Another clever idea from Norma!

Its so hard to put adhesive on tiny pieces like the nose, so the fact that you're using something that's already sticky is just brilliant.

Stampin'UP! sells lots of different Washi Tapes.
Here's how I store mine.
I like being able to see all my choices at once.
